It's worth saving your money because 660ti/670 (and likewise 7870XT and 7950) are the best value configs (compared to 680/7970ghz msrp) before hitting diminishing returns, as well as being enough to play pretty much anything at 1080p if you're willing to overclock them. It's doesn't mean over-all parity because of the config differences, but yes, similar (to stock 680s) and adequate performance can be had for less.
People are right that currently a 770 is a better deal than 670 (if willing to go over 225w and 10 inches), but the inevitable $300 1059/6008mhz 760ti (670 redux) waiting in the wings to directly challenge 7950B and HainanPro (88xx) brings everything back to where it should be. Like-wise 660ti is actually a stronger configuration (just barely though) than the upcoming 760, but prices will likely settle for the later slightly cheaper to compete better with 7870 and/or Hainan LE/pro.
Point being, pretty soon there shouldn't be a bad option from ~200-400. You'll likely get what you pay for when all products are launched (relatively shortly) and older products readjusted to fit into niches compared to the new competition. That said, as we are currently in the middle of a transition, strange overlaps will occur so when prices fall (ex: 680 dropping to $350 when HainanXT launches, or said 760ti/670 price v Hainan Pro) there is dramatic effect.
