Hey Guys,

what do you think about this PC? Is there anything you would change? Maybe an Haswell i7-4770k? Which Motherboard would you suggest? Should be in the same price area.

The whole system is about 1200 Euros. Thats what I'm willing to spend.

This PC is only about Gaming/Streaming.
Maybe I would like to OC the CPU to 4.0 GHz or 4.2 GHz.

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1000GB, 64MB Cache, SATA 6Gb/s (WD10EZEX)
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 Series 120GB, 2.5", SATA 6Gb/s (MZ-7TD120BW)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K, 4x 3.50GHz, boxed (BX80646I74770K)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile schwarz DIMM Kit 8GB PC3-12800U CL9-9-9-24 (DDR3-1600) (CML8GX3M2A1600C9)
GPU: MSI N770 TF 2GD5/OC Twin Frozr Gaming, GeForce GTX 770, 2GB GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort (V282-052R)
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3, Z87 (dual PC3-12800U DDR3)
CPU Cooler: Enermax ETS-T40-VD
Case: MS-Tech X3 Crow¹
PSU: Enermax Revolution87+ 650W ATX 2.3 (ERV650AWT-G/ERV650EWT-G)

= 1171 Euros

I got some questions about it:

#1 Any suggestions about the Motherboard? For around 130$/100 Euro? Gigabyte, ASRock, Asus?
#2 Does an 1156 Cooler fit on an 1150 Haswell?
#3 Is this Cooler enough for an Haswell? I'm not that much into OC'ing. (As said above, maybe 4.0 GHz - 4.2 GHz)

Thank you!

Question 1:
Well i'd say the z87-hd3 is a fine board... it is an allround board.

Question 2:
well usually the coolers come with an variety of brackets, the current cooler you have selected does support 1150 socket. so that should not give any troubles!

Question 3:
That depends on how far you want to push the cpu in OC. if you want it at 4.2 ghz this cooler will do fine, it's airflow is 86.7 CFM with 4x6mm heatpipes, and if you're not sure.. you can always install a second fan for push and pull effect

Hope this helps!

going from 4.0 to 4.2 wont make a lot of difference BTW, either go for somewhere around 4.5 (or 4.6) or leave it at stock.

Im just saying.

you got a point there. but the TS has to buy a better cooler for 4.5/4.6 ghz speeds, cuz depending on the chip quality; you need to up the voltage quite a bit for that kind of speeds, every overclocker knows: moar speed, means moar voltage, means moar heat!!

A silverstone Argon AR01 makes for a good cheap cooler if they are available where you are,
