I wonder how high they'll clock?

I have seen people getting to DDR2-1000 at 5-5-5-15 timings (I think the highest for 4-4-4-12 timings it was DDR2-900).
However, they do not go higher bc they need a fan to cool the RAM off. (They are afraid since the voltage is at 2.2-2.3V)

I am going to get the OCZ XTC Memory cooler so I can maybe go higher.
That damn memory cooler is hard to find I must say.

Hey it might not be as good as the Crucial D9s, but it is $100 less than them.

Well, I have a Corsair Dominator Fan I could throw on them. Still though the OCZ DDR2-1100 (2x1gb) for 229 that I saw on Newegg is what really is tempting me right now.

It prob. is pretty much the same thing (for an extra 60-70 dollars more AR).

The thing is that I am guaranteed those 1100 clocks. On some of the reviews, peeps have gotten 1200+. Decisions, Decisions. OCZ DDR2-1100

Still those Firestix are very tempting!!!!! Good Find!! :toast:

This might help you.
If you look at the OCZ it will run 5-6-6-15 at 1100.

Please note that I have not seen anyone relax timings to 5-6-6-15 on the Buffalo.
Also, note that the OCZ gets to 1100 at 2.2-2.4V.

The Buffalo is able to run 3-3-3-9 (some only 3-4-4-10) at 800 at 1.9V.
At 2.2V I have seen 1000 at 5-5-5-15 timings.
It looks like if you relax the timings on the Buffalo and up the voltage you can hit 1100-1200.
I have not seen anyone try this yet though.

Plus you will barely see the difference between 1000 and 1100.
So is the $50 difference worth it.
To me it doesnt seem so.

Either way though they are both good RAM.

Haha.
I just dont want you to waste extra money for no performance gain.

I still have to wait for my mobo combo (x2 3600+ and Biostar TF550 to come in) and I still need to get a CPU cooler (was looking at the Ninja or Evo 120, but I am still deciding as they maybe too big for my case and liking.....maybe I will get the smaller Kantana...is that a good idea :))

Yeah good thinking! :toast: I could put the extra $100-$120 (buying 4gb) towards my vid card. :toast: I just hope they are still there next week when I order.

Have you check the manufacturers website for dimensions and specs?
