I don't like my new Razer mouse

The rechargeable ones are often heavier, and that's one complaint about this mouse I've seen in reviews. It's not weight adjustable either.

yeah it's not light, I happen to like the weight but I can see how that would turn some people off. I've gone through a lot of mice between logitech, razer, and other brands like mad katz and generics. in the end i seem to prefer logitech and definitely like the g700 - but that's the great thing there are so many we can each have what we want

At the very least they could make a cheaper, lighter non wireless/rechargeable version. In a nutshell, that's your weight adjustment, remove the rechargeable batteries and don't make people buy the cradle charger. The Li-Ion batteries, cradle charger and removable cord jack & plug add a considerable amount to the cost too.

My 700 didn't come with a cradle, and compared to other wired only gaming mouses i think the price is actually quite reasonable. of course you are still paying for features you won't use...

My 700 charges and has data over micro USB cable .no need for a cradle.. I hate cradles.

Cradles may be for babies, the rock a bye actual infant type anyway, but rechargeable mice are for couch gamers.

^^^ Very good point erixx. I can't recall how many reviews I read and questions I asked stressing over what my next mouse purchase would be, only to find in using the one I decided on, it had something about it that didn't suit me personally.

With something as personal preference and oft handled as a mouse, you really can't trust anyone but yourself, and that means trial and error research. The only thing that bothers me about that is it's getting harder and harder to find stores that have display mice you can actually get a hands on feel with. There used to be a lot of them, but now they just say, "You can always return it if you don't like it".

So all of you that have hate for Razer, its because of Razer's software? Is that correct? In my opinion I have had no problems with any Razer and Im on my 3rd one now. I didnt have to have the third one but I wanted one for my laptop as well as my PC and I love the brand. Had a deathadder that lasted over 5 years and that included a time when my puppy chewed the cord up. I was left with about 3ft of cord and I pieced it back together and it still worked just fine until I could buy another. I also now use a Lachesis and a Naga and they are great as well. I have no gripes with either of them but thats just my opinion and I know sometimes people have bad experiences with anything that you can buy. But as far as me and Razer, I will keep buying them until something better comes to my attention. I do like the looks of the RAT9 and would like to try one but not for that price. Maybe if someone gets one that I know I can try it. You never know, if I got to try it I may have to have one! LOL

I don't like razer - in addition to the software, because the HARDWARE is shoddy. I am happy that you have had no problems but for me, working 8-10 hours and then playing most days afterwards, I wore out both razers (deathadder, mamba 2012) very quickly(<4 months). the buttons especially, but also the laser. their hardware simply doesn't stand up to extended heavy usage in my experience.

I'm little surprised that so many have had Razer stuff break down and fall apart, but it seems to be the trend here.

I bought a Mamba like 2.5 years ago used off eBay, and it's still kicking strong, though I did replace the little "feet." I just replaced that with a used Mamba 2012 like 2 months ago for the higher dpi, and I love it! Mamba is easily my favorite mouse.

I had the Razer Orca headphones that held up terrificly too, which I was a little surprised at. Not the greatest sound, but comfy and durable. They've a since been donated to AlienIsGOD

Now the software I can't speak of as I've never had to use it, but that does sound like weak sauce.

Their software sucks. I loved the feel of my Mamba, but never used it wireless so decided to sell it and use my Deathadder instead. I use one for work and one for home, and I use a Razer Black Widow Ultimate at home too. The software is just terrible for me...it is clunky, there's that stupid cloud thing as you mentioned, and it actually fucks up my keyboard - it will randomly press buttons on its own and I can't do anything about it except unplug and replug right after I wake the PC from sleep. It's stupid.

Also sucks that they don't work well with Logitech software, I use a G930 and if I install the latest version it ends up screwing up the keyboard and mouse until I uninstall - not sure if that is a Logitech issue or a Razer issue, but it is annoying.

I am fine using the mouse without drivers installed, the only reason I have it installed right now is because I wanted to be able to turn my keyboard off at night when I go to sleep so I don't have to see the green lit keyboard at night. Either way, products are great, software is less than satisfactory to me.

Personally, unless someone comes and really surprises all of us, i think mouse's have gone as far as they can go? There's already a mouse shape for everyone. I'm still using a Logitech mx518 and i find it perfect. A lot of these newer mouses are trying new things, but ultimately they are actually inferior.

I'd like to hear people's opinions on this, but like mechanical keyboards as well. I think personally, they can't get much better than they already are!

I just spent over half an hour reading razer's actual TOS, just because I needed to see exactly what razer's customers are in for. I suggest anyone buying any of their products do the same.

Yes folks, to put it simply Razer Synapse 2.0 software is actively spying on you and collecting data on who knows what and they even tell you they are doing it their listed ToS. What's worse is they even say that they will probably sell it. Which I'm sure they are By the way.

You also cannot install and use any of their products what uses Synapse 2.0 with all its features without being forced to install the spyware program. If you do not have an active internet connection you cannot install Synapse 2.0 there is no way around this. Basically Razer's Synapse 2.0 software is always online and is spying on everything you do plus if you lose connection or their servers go down then you are unable to access your hardware configurations. Purchase and install their products with extreme caution.

My thoughts exactly. But if you're ok with the TOS, do you, buy a Razer. It's not a bad mouse as in real bad.

Ok, I think I'm all done with this issue as I just got a complete refund issued to me from Amazon.
My Logitech G500 will be here today, and once again life is on track. All is good.
