Within the past month I sold some old OCZ Platinum DDR2 1066 kits like you have and I was amazed that I could still get $60 for each 2 x 2GB kit, especially because I only paid $50 for them originally. Old high speed memory seems to hold its value.

This is true for the higher density DDR3 sticks as well. If you spent €100 bying 4GB sticks a year ago you could probably sell those for at least €150 now. Computer hardware as an investment is a strange idea.

So you do think DDR3-2400 CL11 is a low latency kit? -_-I know that my DDR3-2400 CL11 would beat your DDR2-1066 CL5 in all benchmarks, but it took five years for the high speed low latency DDR3 to arrive.

You could have bought DDR3-2000 CL6 and DDR3-2200 CL7 years ago in 2010, if you really wanted low latency memory. Actually, there were kits offering comparable latencies (e.g. DDR3-2000 CL7, DDR3-2200 CL8 - I still have some of those) available in 2009, if you remember the Elpida Hyper craze. So i don't see much validity in your statement.
