My folders look funny

Randomly my "my documents" folder and a couple others changed how to folders look too this. Doesn't effect anything, just had me scratching my head.. anyone know what happened?

Might be a Windows 8 upgrade? I'm not sure since I don't have Win 8.

To be on the safe side, scan with your AV program and then scan with Malwarebytes.

this is on my laptop win7. Just did a scan like two days ago with mwb (the folder have looked like this for a few weeks now)

Never seen that before. Maybe try rebuilding your icon cache? http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/49819-icon-cache-rebuild.html

Weird, I recall similar stuff happening in the early days of XP with updates, but not in Win 7. Those are UGLY!

Right click on a folder and select properties... Customize tab, "change icon" - see what it's showing.

customize tab? not seein that in properties, just general, sharing, security, previous versions..

Do you have admin rights?
Edit...but having asked that I also do not see that icon in the icon items selection at all.

@anonymous6366 Have you tried this yet? I've seen this before, and this worked for a user that didn't want to fresh install Windows to fix their problem.
