Have you heard how the performance editions sound with the speed resistor (included)? Also, 3pin or PWM or does it matter?

I had the SP120s a while back but at the time I didn't know about the resistor :oops: so I didn't get to hear them. How do they compare? And I'm planning on using 3pin connection.

Thanks for the suggestion! My search wasn't intended for the Arc XL but now seeing them, they would work perfectly in the XL. I'm looking for more black and red for my new color scheme, hence the Corsair fans.

But wow those fans look terrific, other than the white :p. Maybe I could paint the fan red or black....

They aren't too bad with the resistor, they run @ 7v and are pretty quiet. I think I have a pair of 3pin SP120 HP versions around here, but they only have the red and white rings.

The High Performance SP120s with the resistor spin at about the same speed as the Quiet Editions at full speed, so the High Performance with the resistor are as quiet as the Quiet Editions.

I've got a pair of High Performance SP120s with the resistors, I used one for about a month the other has never been used. Let me know if you're interested.

Can always rewire it by flipping the ground to the 12 and 5 volts to run what you got at 7v.
