I just don't know what too do wait another month or buy now. I do want 3x PCI-Express slots just because of physics support if I wanted it in the future. But I guess I could do without them at the same time. I backed out of buying at the beginning of January and I'm kinda happy I did and not so.


What do you guys think of the above?

If I were you, I'd go with the Intel rig and the E6300 right now. Will give you better performance compared to the others.

I would go with the Xeon. You're already paying so much, you might as well spend the extra $20 and I bet it would overclock great.

The E6300 is a proven over clocker, the Xeon on the other hand, haven't heard much about, in terms of OC'ing. I would pick the one that is known to OC, if that's what it will be used for.

My thoughts would be no. Not this current generation, unless you want to wait for AMD to release their answer to Core2, the K10, which is still a while away.

Correction DaMulta, High end VS High end. E6xxx series is considered high end. E4xxxx is considered High-mid, pentium D = mid Pentium 4 = low Celeron = fuck off, too shit.

They're the same processor, only the Xeons are supposedly more stable/higher quality. The only thing that might be different could be the stepping which would come down to luck if he got a 6300 anyway. So if the 6300 overclocks well then the Xeon, in theory, could be better because Intel claims it is higher quality. While I know this doesn't always hold true, for an extra $20 on a several hundred dollar computer isn't it worth a try?

The xeon seems the way to go, but I'm going to look into it more.

I think you should just wait till June, which is when the C2D's and AM2's will be uber low priced, along with a lot of other hardware, and just get a core 2 duo e6400 with a decent dfi or asus board, 2gigs of ram, and dual sata 3gb/s hdd's and raid-0 them..
