E2180 or 4300?

I have choice between these 2 cpus that i already have in my hand and that i will not go buy any other.
So is it better the E2180 2.0gigs 1m cache or the 4300 1.8gig 2m cache?

Without overclocking of course because maybe the mobo i will get don't have overclocking options. I buy locally from used parts store for really cheap and what's available.

E4300 with the cache, I went from E2180 to E6300 and noticed better performance, but real world use will make not difference.

The most extensive thing I will do is to play the old Battlefield 2 multiplayer.
Yeah ok but the 6300 is 1066mhz FSB and 2.8 gigs not 2.0gigs.

Its 1.86GHz, not 2.8. Both of the cpus that youve listed are very similar in performance but I'd take the 4300 due to the extra MB cache. Either chip would be fine for BF2, heck I played that on a 3GHz Pentium 4 back in the day!

I think the performance between the two is almost identical. But the E4300 has more cache, so I would go for it.

If you could find one a E6600 was a beast of a chip back in the day also a 45nm E5xxx series OCed like mad! I had one at 4.1Ghz for a while.

If your not gonna overclock get the 4300, better than the E2180 all around(unless you oc the E2180)

And those 2180's overclock like mad! I had one for about 8 months. I loved it, but in the end, went for more cache in a used e4600. so, like most are saying here, you are probably better off with the 4300.

Just got an AsRock G31M-GS R2.0 that can overclock well so I will put the 4300 and try oc to 2.5 gigs. I tested ocing with a P4 651 3.4gigs on that board and it went to 4.2gigs.

the 2180 can use a BSEL mod if i'm not mistaken!

identical performance in reality, E2180 has a higher multiplier so it should OC easier.

L2 cache, the larger the better, essential for gaming. So between the two: E4300.
