Bsod with memory upgrade

In February I upgraded my asus n53jq laptop with an extra 4GB ram, the original 2x2GB modules installed were from the brand ASint Technology (never heard of that btw), but could not find any ram sticks for sale here, then I found 2x2GB sticks from corsair with the same timings, 9-9-9-24 so i ordered these.
After running fine for just over 2 weeks I got a bsod, ntoskrnl.exe+cc727 MEMORY_MANAGEMENT.
After restarting the laptop everything was fine again till 3-31 another bsod, ntoskrnl.exe+f20d4 IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the last bsod today ntoskrnl.exe+e6e18 MEMORY_MANAGEMENT.
After that I ran memtest and there were no errors but I took out the corsair memory and will see if it will crash again or not in a few weeks. I could not find any solution for it.

Did you try resetting the bios after you install the memory?
Make sure they are seated right (making good contact) and there is no dust or other stuff blocking the connector.
Try swapping the placement of the sticks.
And, update to the latest bios.

If your bios setup does not have memory settings in the options... then ain't to much you can do.
Except, try some matching modules.

I'm not sure how to "reset" the bios , it's a laptop.
Yes the modules were seated right and there was no dust.
I also updated to the latest bios but it did not help
I don't have memory settings in my bios since this is a laptop.
The only difference between the ASint and the corsair sticks is the brand, the timings are the same: 9-9-9-24.

The longest period was over 2 weeks that it was running fine, then i got the first bsod.
The only thing I was doing when the bsods occurred was just browsing the internet with the latest version of chrome.

If you managed to run for two weeks before getting the BOSD, it may be hardware related rather than software. Which application did you install within that 2 week period?

If its definitely the RAM, go into the bios and loosen the timings slightly.

I installed samsung Kies.
I can't change any memory settings, it's a laptop.

Uninstall Kies, its always a good thing to uninstall the last applications before the trouble happened.

Perhaps reinstall windows on a different partition, if the problem goes away then the issue was software not hardware.

If the issue persists then its a hardware issue. Usually the better corsair sticks will downgrade it's timings and bus speed to match the slower sticks. But not all memory sticks like to operate too far below specification. This might be a mere compatibility issue with the two different sticks. It's a shame as usually mismatches work well.

Some people say it does not matter if you install more ram, it won't affect your WEI score but it did with me, my memory WEI score with 4GB was 5.9 and with 8GB (added 4) my score was 7.4! But currently running at 4GB again waiting to see if my laptop will crash again in the next 2 weeks or so.

WEI score is bullshit, it isn't a benchmark. It's based on a database with predefined values.

You need to run a dedicated memory benchmark to measure the latency, read & write performance.

Yep, since it is a laptop, most don't, usually, have to many settings for anything... less for the customer to mess with.

Reset the bios by going into the bios settings and selecting set to default or the equivalent, after you install the memory.

You may want to, also, go into your administrative tools and look at the error logs to see if any errors were occurring leading up to the blue screen.

And, run a scan(disk check) and defrag (if you have a HDD) on your drives.

It is possible, it may be some software problem.

What OS are you running and is it the 32 bit or 64 bit version?
What A/V software do you run?

Just my personal dealings with Corsair memory and the reason I no longer use it is... it is finicky, either it works with something or it won't.
I had it not work with certain motherboards and/or other memory, in both, desktops and laptops.

Well MSE is working fine for me, and I can tell you that I just updated with the last definitions a few minutes ago
I believe Microsoft will stop supporting it on windows xp.

At the moment I'm running my laptop with the 4GB that was factory installed, I will run it for at least 2 weeks to see if it will crash again, if it does not maybe there is something wrong with the 2 currently empty memory sockets.

silly question,... but i hope you are only running the corsair memory, not the corsair 4gb and asnit 2gb both together.
corsair is performance and has very different settings from OEM ram.

I'm running only the 2 sticks Asint memory now, from the factory installed.
But the corsair as i said before, has the same timings as the Asint sticks, 9-9-9-24.

Yeah it may be, or there may be something wrong with one of the memory sockets, too bad that I upgraded the memory after warranty...

There is the odd virus definition, but its a well known fact it doesn't work well. Microsoft have already told us not to use it and its their product.

The moment you open the case the warranty is void.

IMO I'm leaning on the Corsair is incompatible with the ASint. Or the Corsair is incompatible with the motherboard. I doubt your the memory slot is faulty.

But it still did run fine for over 2 weeks one time, strange.

Are the corsair sticks running at 1.5v? According to Asus only 1.5v RAM will work, and higher voltage DIMMs will cause a BSOD.

Funny, I never voided my laptop's warranties by adding drives or memory... HP, ASUS, Toshiba, or MSI... most have access panels for such upgrades and give the customer instructions on the proper procedures.

Anyway, back to topic... What are the Corsair part numbers... and from what I can gather they should be 1.35V sticks.
