Phanteks PH-TC14PE

A worth While upgrade over an H60 for $60 after coupon code? On my FX 8320 in system specs. Thoughts appreciated.

Definitely one of the best Air tower coolers around, almost on par with the Noctua DH14. Much better than the H60, depends on if you have the room, and if you memory is low profile enough.

It keeps my 8320 nice and cool. I'd say it is a worth upgrade.

Not just on par, I'd say it trades blows with or performs better than the Noctua NH-D14 which is what I assume you are referring to. Also, good thing you mentioned memory profile. I had to pull the heatsinks off of my Corsair Vengeance to get it to fit.

yep and air cooling, nice performance but you need to give it enough space and its easier to clean and for long term

What kind of prime95 temps do you see? The H60 will reach socket temp to 70C pretty quick at 4.5 1.35V High LLC. The RAM clearance does concern me. Crucial Ballistix Tactical mine is just the 2x4GB kit.

I'm not sure about socket temp, but at 4.5 GHz 1.428v Very High LLC my core temps max out around 56-58C (depending on Ambient Temperature) in prime. The sensor labeled CPU seems to be the VRM temps from what I can tell. At that voltage they can get up to 76C on my board.

Amazon listed the RAM as 1.42in and clearance on phantaks website is 40mm which is about 1.57in so I should be in the good there. I'll measure my RAM when I get home.

FX-GMC when I monitor with HWMONITOR the CPU temp, i am assuming is the motherboards sensor at the socket and the core temp is what is reported by CPU (and AMD overdrive). The motherboard reports 70C real quick at 4.5 and 60C on core with my H60, 4.5 is all I really want. $60 seems like a good deal for the phanteks thats normally 90ish. Thanks for your input.

Phanteks ordered while promotion is still on. I'll post installation pics when it arrives.

Ok, got the Phanteks installed. Everything fit nicely in my case, my RAM cleared, barely. So far so good, my temps are averaging more than a 10C difference. I wont know the real difference, because I would stop the H60 on prime95 when temps hit 70C (motherboard sensor) and 60C (core temp).

why you stop it at 70?
if it run about 90c more your component still ok
i tested my old pc and it hit 97c

Personal cut off limit at socket temp. Core temp would rise above 60C. I guess it stems from the old Athlon 64 X2 days. Those temps were also reached under 15min of prime 95 vs 1hour on the phanteks.

my power supply has been fine for 4 years. Mine is the good one 850watt black widow with single 69amp 12V rail.

I just ordered one of these myself, didn't get a deal on the price like you did. My H80i took a shit, everything works on it but my coolant started getting up to 80C and CPU throttled easily. I reseated the block but it made no difference. Seeing if I can get an RMA from Corsair and, if I get a replacement, I'll sell it and keep the air cooler. Right now my Intel box cooler is doing better than the H80i, lol.

That thing is huge. Hopefully it'll fit in my case!

Yes, it is quite massive, but it performs excellently. My temps seemed to have dropped a little now, don't know if the phanteks TIM requires cure time or not. Besides the good deal I got on it, I also bought it to replace my H60, partly out of concern of pump failure. Let us know what the results are!

The Phanteks PH-TC14PE is a great cooler however if one can find it the CRYORIG R1 Universal is probably the best high end air cooler on the market period.

Its the same paste as NTH1, and while they say it has no cure time it does cure a small amount.

I found it on ebay for about $200 (USD) I know that is a huge markup from the retail price. I caught the Phanteks on sale for $60 (USD) which I thought was a pretty solid deal. I am somewhat tempted to add a 3rd fan to it, if for nothing more than just SNGs

Put a 120x38 fan on the front and a 120x25mm thick gutted fan in the center as a shroud and another 120x38 on the back.

nope just a picture i found awhile back.

-Computer in my specs hsf is just a phtc12dx with a single san ace 120x38 and a spacer shroud 120x25
-back fan is also a san ace 120x38 so its effectively push pull.

So, I got it in the mail and installed it last night. This thing is fucking huge. The blue was the cheapest one too, so I guess my computer no longer has a matching color scheme, oh well.

The only downside is the clips that hold the fan to the heatsink press against the back plate of my video card, which has increased the temps. I'm still waiting for NZXT to get off their asses and figure out whether they actually shipped me my G10, which I ordered a month and a half ago. I'm about ready to just order from amazon and demand a refund from NZXT.

The Phanteks PH-TC14PE is a tank! Best cooler and you got a great deal!
Keeps my Old power hungry Q6600 cooled at 1.47V that thing can get hot but the Phanteks PH-TC14PE keeps it below 66c while gaming and 78c stress testing.
