I would recommend Asus Asus EAH5450 Silent/DI/512MD2/LP with DDR2 due to its
HDMI
Direct X 11
OpelGL 3.2
0dB
the downside it the DDR2 memory.

Also downside is 64bits instead of 128bits. Why they power down cards like that with lower memory instead of newer ?

I am looking at your system specs, and shows that your current system is an HTPC? Will the new one be as well? That'll help determine what GPU to use.

DDR2 or DDR3 play no role, because you will not game with these.
Same goes for DX, GL whatever. Really.

But
HD5450(UVD2) > 8600GT(VP3)
means with 5450 you will have video decode acceleration support for much more formats.
Low profile and fanless add-up too.

I already have these two thats why i gave options with these two and stated that i have them in my possession. Why people keep telling to buy other stuff when someone offer a clear choice?

Because they both are crapy cards. The 5450 is ok for video play but not gaming.

But you could try the 8600 for BF2. It will be painful but playable

Because it is 128 bits and has DDR3 ram. While many said the 5450 would be better because it's silent I think that does not matter in a system that has a stock cooler on a CPU.

To be honest, if you want any hope of playing some Battlefield 2 you will probably need to go with the 8600GT, if you check out TPU's review of the 5450 when it came out it pretty much struggled to play the origional Crysis game with little or no detail even at low res, well i say struggle, complete fail really as it couldn't get into double figured FPS!

That depends what you want the card for as in the original OP you did not say..

If ya want the lowest power card of the 2 get a Kill A Watt. Although i would of thought that would be the 64bit card.

I will play some games but older like BF2, maybe Batman arkham asylum. That the newest my cpu can play. What about War Thunder online. Will it play better with the EAH5450? Thx :)

Hello.
First, I was wrong. 8600GT has VP2 level, which corresponds to TrueVideo feature level A - basic.
5450 has full UVD2 logic, which corresponds to Fermi and up. So, for video decoding 5450 is many times better.

Second, both cards are strictly OpenGL2, DX8 era level. Which means you are okay with titles such as Far Cry 1 (one) or Doom 3. 5450 is OpenGL3.3/DX10 level, but due to hardware (in)capabilities, its not recommended for anything more-less serious.
Anything heavier will impose problems in performance. These card classes were not designed for it(5450 is office/htpc level)/are outdated in performance to match it(8600GT is entry level gaming card of 2007, 7 years ago).

Third, hwcompare is incorrect site to compare performance. Something like GPUboss or even better passmark's gpu score will give better average result.
Pay attention though, that OpenGL2, 3 and 4 (and DX8, 10 and 11) differ in scene processing, so you will be set back at functionality needed to render games correctly. Games will fallback to legacy render backends and you will not get experience.

Fourth, if I fully understand your situation, as a real life example, I purchased HD5850 with 1Gb of gddr5 vram for 60$ from ebay. This is about performance level of HD6870 or HD7770. If you consider playing more/less modern 3d games, consider buying used GPU instead of relying on slow outdated hardware.

Whilst i agree with much of what you have said regarding both cards limitations, there are one or two inaccuracies for example the 8600GT is fully DX10 compliant, the 5450 is DX11.

If you are building a new rig, why not use an AMD APU? Be more powerful than both the 5450 and 8600.

I am not. I just keep my own system and wanted to keep thebest of two cards. Then the card leftover will be reinserted in a system that i will give away to someone in need.

I would say choose the Asus EAH5450 it will play most game,
plus here is a video of the review which shows the card handling world of Warcraft
I am certain that you can play BF2 if you adjust the settings well.

I had a 8600gt and it was horrible with BF2 and WoW was barely playable, I got rid of them as fast I got them. I ended up with 9800gtx's and gaming was much better. Hence my suggestion to buy a gts 450. Hell I even upgraded my wife's computer to a gts 450 just because it is a stout little card. The silent card should not even be considered to play games because it will hit its thermal barrier quite quickly with bf2 on any setting.

Absolutely. Unfortunately/fortunately I haven't used anything DX since my refusal to follow MS bandwagon since Vista, so my error comes not unexpected. Thanks.

Out of the 2 cards I would go with 8600GT, it will still play BF2 fine at 720P and low to medium resolution. I have the EVGA 8600GT in my media center PC since that card was released, its still doing its job for so many years. I only use the PC to record shows and watch Blu-ray content. I did try playing BF2 on big TV with 1080P, it was painful tho.
