Which GPU should i buy?

Sapphire make some good cards and are probably considered one of the top 3 bigger companies on the AMD side of things. As far as waiting for something better, I would not hold my breath because nothing is expected within the next couple of months at least at a reasonable price.

well with the latest news about drop in GPU sale (TPU news) maybe a price drop will occur but i don't know when and how much xD

and indeed Sapphire is in the top 3 (i'd say easily ASUS/MSI/SAPPHIRE since VTX/XFX and other "lesser" have not the reputation of those 3 )

well that's what i was talking about, when i said i got my 290 cheap but one thing to be warned is: BTC/LTC/others cryptocurrencies miner cards can be cheap but totally wrecked (depending how the miner did use the card)

so for you @Wonsu i recommend (if you have, as you say, the money for a 290X ) to get the Sapphire 290X of your choice, or if you can wait a bit just wait and check the price from month to month (as some said the GPU market will not evolve soon)

in case of problems, it's always better to have a full shop/manufacturer warranty to back you up (even if problems tend to be rare specially if you don't OC without knowing what you do) than rely on luck over a 2nd hand card (even if i am pretty lucky on that point and never had any dead/partially dead card of all the one i bought 2nd hands)

and for knowing what to do: TPU community is always here to help. (about OC, reliability and other issues )

It depends on your budget strongly and also your current case might fit it.

If I were to buy a case to fit that card, this would be my shortlist;
Corsair Carbide 540 Air (what I have at the moment)
Phanteks Enthoo Primo
Corsair Obsidian 450D

Cases are a very personal choice though.

well it can fit huge cards but the case itself is pretty compact and iirc a Tri-X is indeed quite longer than a reference board

compare that picture with the one above (edit: my motherboard is fullsize ATX and that gigabyte is somewhat shorter) as you can see the Carbide Spec-01 could easily handle it due to the fact that the HDD cage is on bottom
for a CFX it would be more complicated but on a single card its perfect. otherwise those that THE_EGG recommended have more place but are quite bigger too.

That mobo looks like it is a shortened full-size atx. No third column of screw holes. My mobo is like that and I hate it (although not as short as the one pictured above). It feels so unstable when I plug stuff in. I think a full fat ATX mobo would probably end around the centre of that third fan on the graphics card rather than the edge of the fan.

yep i pretty much suspected ... but i wasn't sure of it thanks for clearing it

my ASUS M5A99X Evo is a full atx and the Tri-X PCB is not longer than a Ref like mine (who also has 3-4mm in addition due to the shroud) but the HSF of the Tri-X is ~10mm more than the edge of the PCB iirc

ok so let say a Tri-X is somewhat 5-6mm longer than my ref 290 who is 27.5cm so a case able to fit a 28-29cm card (or every 31cm max case) would have no problem at all (my Carbide Spec01 would have no problem to do so, thanks to the "no HDD cage in the middle" xD )

I have just watched that awhile ago ^,hmm,i really wanted a 32 inch one but its too expensive.Any insights if i should buy this now?the u28d590d 28 samsung 4k monitor?

well 1440/1600p should be enough tho ... (that's what i will go when i get back into the green (financial status ... not nVidia )) atm i use same a you do 32" 1080p TV i could not settle for a 28" or under even if it's a affordable 4K monitor

4K on a 290/290X is more for CFX (unless 295X2)

Yeh I think if you wanted an enjoyable experience on 4K with high/ultra settings, you would really need 2 R9 290s or better.

If you wanted a 4K monitor though, I'd probably go with the Asus PB287Q
