Good
graphics setup
ability to turn off all ingame hints and tips
first and third person view
ability to play "run and gun" or stealthy + reasonable cover system
hacking computers to reveal history of the plot and gain xp
upgrade abilities "choose enhancments that suit your play stile"
story line is fair [just my opinion] - look for some reviews

Bad
boss fights [were out sourced and differ from the rest of the game play] have to think a little to get through these; maybe game breaker for some

I am a fan of Tomb Raider. Mostly because it runs on my Laptop, but also because it is challenging, to me, a "not really gamer guy."

I have been forced to play a bunch of "Indie" Games, and I am totally enjoying that. Tomb Raider is not "Indie" and has good graphics that many indie's don't have.

Just my 2 cents. Good Luck and have fun Gaming!

P.S. Also, that 8320 would be an AWESOME Cruncher, when you aren't gaming.

Just Cause 2, it's the only one of those that was slightly better vs slightly worse than I anticipated.

Alan Wake gets a nod if you lean toward horror, and it's pretty original.

Sleeping Dogs is pretty good, but too close to GTA type gameplay to stand out, and the side quests are very repetitious.

Hitman Absolution is pretty good if you need a stealth fix, but many were put off by disguises matching that of the guards creating suspicion vs a feeling of familiarity.

Too bad Splinter Cell Blacklist is not one of the options. A very good and often overlooked game.

Tomb Raider was a fun 5 hour game and I never played SE3 I'd get that because the other SE games were kind of fun.

Well, unless you don't like it, I would suggest Sniper Elite 3, because it's the most expensive game on that list. The rest you can get really cheap if you look hard enough

Deus Ex: HR without any hesitation!! It's just downright fun! After first playthrough, I promptly went back and played two more times, and I never do that. Also Alan Wake, because it's slightly original, and has an indie feel to it, and in the horror genre.

If those don't appeal, Just Cause 2 is a very fun game with few bugs, or Sleeping Dogs. Finally, Shogun II: Total War is in my opinion a fantastic game if RTS is your thing. Creative did justice to their original Shogun, and did it relatively bug-free compared to all the problems Empire:TW had.

Oh it will be cheap soon enough, because it's pretty bad and quite a let down from the last one, not to mention pretty buggy. Have you played it? If we're going on the assumption several games on the list will be played, it will be a while before he gets to all the ones that ARE played, and by then SE3 could easily be in the bargain bin.

As a side note, I play Diablo 3, StarCraft 2, I like FPS on single player, RPG (old school like final fantasy 3, FF7/FF8), I was interested in Sniper cause I like the concept of being a sniper - but is it really that bad??? I see a few votes for Dues Ex. Keep the info coming in, and thanks!

I had the gold awards and ended up picking Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider, and Dungeon Siege 3. Haven't tried out the other 2 but sleeping dogs seems decent thus far.

I already had the following going in:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Darksiders 1
Darksiders 2
Total War: Shogun 2
Titan Quest Gold Edition
Supreme Commander Gold Edition

Human revolution was fine combat was fun but ending and boss fights kinda killed the ride for me. I liked Darksiders 1 and 2 but plot isn't exactly stellar on them, the combat and puzzles are what I liked, 2 felt really long though.
If you don't have Shogun 2 get it Absolutely love that one.
No point in the bottom 2 as you can pick them up for a couple bucks on steam.

If you've not played the last one SE V2, then get that first and play it, but this new one is not as good. It's got some fairly good maps and some new gadgets, but the new items aren't really necessary, the AI is pretty dense, and there's lots of bugs. Even their signature feature the xray cam is horribly implemented this time around, and it's buggy too.
