I need a PC that I can record, and game max setting on the newest released games with. Also Editting would be extremely nice to have. I am willing to upgrade my own to save money my current specs are as follows:
Operating System
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
CPU
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 34 °C
Thuban 45nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 199MHz (5-5-5-15)
Motherboard
ASRock K10N780SLIX3-WiFi (CPUSocket) 44 °C
Graphics
SyncMaster (2048x1152@60Hz)
Acer X193W (1440x900@60Hz)
512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ (EVGA) 49 °C
Storage
596GB Western Digital WDC WD6400AACS-00G8B1 ATA Device (SATA) 30 °C
111GB SanDisk SDSSDH120GG25 ATA Device (SSD) 30 °C
Optical Drives
HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH12LS38 ATA Device

I am mostly worried about my Hard Drives (write speed and running out of space), my Ram, and my Graphics card. (I don't know about cpu much.) Please if someone could give me a nice PCPartPicker list that would make me happy :). (Also I do not know much about cooling either, do I need to upgrade coolers if I get a very high end graphics card? And would my build be able to handle one???)

What is your budget man? Any brand preferences? AMD vs Nvidia and Intel etc. What programs do you use for video editting etc. I use my rig for same purpose, gaming and video editting (gameplay and GoPro).

I decided to purchase a gtx 780 graphics card and just add on stuff. Anyone know if the rest of my components will work well with it? My budget is probably seven hundred dollars after the five hundred and twenty dollars spent on the graphics card: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DWV3NM6/?tag=tec06d-20

But is my processor okay? Can it squeeze out what it needs to get the full potential out of my card? Sorry I am trying to prioritize things.

No, if you want max settings and full potential out of your card you need a new platform. Like a i5 Haswell. i7 would be preferred since you want to record and play. Now you could get by with your current CPU until you upgrade but it will not be at full potential

On a side note that WD green drive is the one that had all the issues when green drives first came out.

Editing what exactly?
Gameplay videos, and I would like to stream also. (even though it is mostly an internet issue)

Well I would like to try Nvidia and Intel as I heard they tend to be more reliable. And as for programs go I am not sure yet. Any suggestions? And mind posting your build?

The Phenom II X6 1100T is still quite powerful, if you're doing video editing its actually ideal.

The video card is holding back your gaming. If you're on a shoe string budget I would upgrade the GPU and get a larger SSD.

PS. the GTX780 is a bit over the top, and absolutely contradicts you wanting a "cheap" build. Just throw in a R9 280x. You need to be clear, is this a cheap build or NOT?

But is my processor okay? Can it squeeze out what it needs to get the full potential out of my card? Sorry I am trying to prioritize things.
Well it depends in all honesty, a Phenom II X6 1100T is not horrible but it is dated even at max clocks that I was able to pull off my own (Sold to a friend that runs 4.0 with 4.2 Turbo) it will do ok in 1080p games but it still is not a great processor anymore. The rest of your platform is also dated and will hold back the whole system from doing well even in a 1080p situation (Maybe at 720p resolution you would be fine).

With buying a GTX 780, I can safely say you are going to need more power to back up the system. Your storage drives (if im reading correctly include an SSD and HDD) are fine enough and can be reused in your new rig, but I would say your going to need some new parts to accompany the card and give you a nice gaming experience.

With 700 bucks to spend left, here is my suggestion of parts for your new machine:

Corsair Carbide Case (If you can't/don't want to use your old one)
i7 4790k
Cooler Master Hyper212
MSI Z97-G55 motherboard
Gskill Ares 1866 8gb DDR3
Corsair CX 500 bronze PSU

That should satisfy your needs, there can be areas for change if you like and also many of the suggestions are only based off price and not so much looks (Case for instance is your eye choice). It will not bottleneck your GTX 780 and will give you all yoru looking for in a build. I do not think in your case you would need much more than this for what your doing as the i7 will be great for gaming and editing (And of course streaming) while the board choice and cooler will allow great overclocking (and SLI later).

Well I would like to try Nvidia and Intel as I heard they tend to be more reliable. And as for programs go I am not sure yet. Any suggestions? And mind posting your build?

Go for it, its up to you to try and buy what you want. However I will say that's more of just people ranting than anything as neither side is more reliable in the grand scheme than the other (Driver side and what not). Intel though is a much better option for the processor at the moment when it comes to gaming.

Thank you very much for your input. It seems like your parts would make a very good build! I will attempt to save up the money and create the machine haha. Thanks!

Well. You see this is the problem, I am only thirteen but still decently clever with technology and would like to start streaming/recording at a young age to get a jump on the competition. So as you can imagine this money is hard as hell to come by. I have worked out an agreement for the 780 with my parents where I will get $10 for my weekly allowance instead of the normal $20 I would for a year which will cover the costs. So I am in a pickle if I want to just buy the parts THEN build a computer. It seems logical for my financial situation to stick with what I normally have, and slowly upgrade. So I am wondering now what is my next course of action? The motherboard, the RAM, the processor? What is my best bet to be able to (in a couple years) have a kick ass rig.

No the i7-4790K with a Z97 board ideally. If you don't have the $ then stick with that CPU, ram and board and get a larger SSD for games and OS. Then save for the upgrade

that system is DDR2 you are looking at a full system upgrade and buying a 780 would be a waste of money for such a vintage system
the trickle upgrade path is never a good plan AMD's current line of sockets and motherboards has pretty much no upgrade path beyond whats available now
forget buying a 780 for now you need a whole new system from the get go to warrant doing anything

I am just simply rebuilding my system. I am already using a decent case. And I feel that if I added the 780, it wouldnt be a big deal because I am upgrading anyways.

you will severally handicap that GTX780 and at 1080p a GTX780 is overkill for what you want
for the cost of the 780 (500.00USD) you could replace the motherboard and cpu and go with a lower tier gpu and still have tons of expandablity

don't let that pentium k fool you it will run cicles around your phenom II (even at stock)and as a bonus you can upgrade to a i5 or a i7 later OR you can step down to a r7 265 gpu and get a entry level i5 right now ..
don't throw all your money at the gpu it won't help you much

if you want an after market cooler i stole this from the post above mine. you will only need it if you overclock if you are not going to overclock stock is fine

this setup should handle both gaming and video editing just fine and last you a good 4-5 years before needing anything.

the cpu is k edition for overclocking and the power supply is an extremely good psu that will last for a long time. the motherboard is also really good and will allow the cpu to overclock good also if you want to do that later down the road.

Can you return the 780 and get an R9 290? Lol

Like everybody is saying, you need a new mobo, CPU and RAM. I didn't see what powersupply you're running. Can it even handle a 780?
