I've been playing the open beta; just found out that the DVD has hi-res textures I'm missing out on.

Installing...right...now. 2xdvds takes a while, though...who knew?

I doesn't look as good oblivion to me--far more "cartoonie"--but it is MUCH nicer to older systems. I'm starting to think I should have stuck with my old pc instead of building a new one last month.

As far as the gameplay...so far it's fantastic.

Lush environments and excellent image quality. I think it looks as good as Oblivion. I may have to check this out. How much is it per month?

$15/month + the game itself is $50. that's quite steep $65 for the first month, but around par for the course.

on the other hand, dev's are promising content (otherwise known as "expansion packs") will always be free for subscribers.

Might be right. I game them my cc info yesterday, have yet to be charged (even though it states they charge a month in advance).

Oh, and to clarify--I was wrong about the expansions. They are promising to add expanded content and area on at least a bi-monthly basis. They will also be selling expansion packs...which you can buy...and continue to pay $15 a month to access...

arghh. my wallet hertz.

I'm tempted to play this. However, I got sucked into WoW for a year and just managed to pull myself free a couple of months ago. I'm not sure I want to get sucked into another monthly subscription and an endless game designed to prevent you from ever finishing it.
