A Case to Find a Case for My Case

One of my fave ways to transport delicate items if they fit is on the front passenger seat with the shoulder and waist part of the seat belt wrapped around, snapped in, and drawn tight. It's a quick and easy way of keeping them from tipping over or sliding around. Of course you're still going to want some soft padding underneath to avoid it getting jarred a lot, but at least you won't have to worry about it staying put.

That said, if you'd rather keep the passenger seat for passengers or for other things, a PC tower on it's side could probably suffice with just the lap belt of a rear seat, as long as you draw it tight.

How about one of those rolling suitcases?

Hard sides, straps and padding inside, handle AND wheels. They even have plenty of pockets for cables, etc...

Are these specifically for towers? Any links/model names?

These are just plain old suitcases or "rolling luggage". They come in a bunch of sizes and prices can range from $25-30 to $100's depending on brand/material/quality.

The one in my closet is a cheap one ($30) that's approximately 16"x 21"x 9" ... which should fit a good assortment of cases.

I'm really getting tired of this following around the kiddies and having to pick up all the toys when fits are thrown and the table is tossed. @Joel Charig If you haven't thrown it all away, the original cardboard packaging with the styrofoam inserts would be the best reasonable protection for your PC. Pelican cases work when you have a case like the SG05 or my SG08. ATX would just be a pain to find and fit a Pelican case that is big enough (allowing for generous amounts of foam), and honestly having your PC rolled around on those rock-hard ball-bearing wheels is arguably even more damaging. I tend to carry my PC using the handle instead of using the wheels.

It should be fine with anything IMO. It's just a car trip. Just be careful with it, put something soft underneath the box, and use the original case box. That's already bulky enough. Shelling out hundreds for a large Pelican case is not a smart buy.

I haven't played anything so far actually, even though I've been here a week! I think it's because I'm still settling in and getting used to how this work here. Should start some Terraria pretty soon though

That is a mighty fine idea! Other forums out there have a system where if the OP is happy with the help provided, it says so on the thread title. People just start bantering on about nothing afterwards on here; it becomes Bantersaurus Land.

Unfortunately, I use my case cardboard box for the storage of all my spare parts, cables, manuals and other component boxes. So that idea's a no-go I'm afraid!

Someone ought to invent a dolly that detaches from the bottom of a case and has an extendable handled you can attach to the MB side of the dolly. It would come with a thin pad to wrap around the case and buckle strap to keep it tight against the handle.
