im using symantec clienbt security and id like to know what is the string to put in software eg messenger or a downlaod utility to make it scan files

A lot of us don't know too much about security software like that. The only Symantec product that any of us use is Norton 360, because it is a lot better than previous versions.

I recommend you ditch Symantec for Avast, Nod32, AVG, or any number of other free/powerful antivirus programs. Symantec is infamous for owning the most bloated, cracked security software out there.

i would think that auto-protect will scan all the files that you receive. It does that for me. I also have norton corp.

this symantec client secuiry is not bloated, jsut has the bare essentials .. its basically symantec anti virus corporate edition stitched with symantec cororate firewall .. very mean with teh resources .. ulike the last norton i used 2005 ...

no it fifnt, thats how i got a virus .. i want to force it to scan the files ..

i kno they are not i had corp on my sytem back in the days of 98SE ran fast as hell no extra crap at all dont know how to do the new versions though havent used them
