C&Q is bad for overclockers anyway. If I were you I would stay away from it.

BTW nice OC on that CPU, it's faster than my 5200+ now :wtf:

yeah i cant get it stable at anything higher, i tried lowering the multi limiting my ram, upping the voltage a little. and nothing works. :( i think i had too high of expectations for this chip cause so far i havent noticed any performance dif from my 3000+ at 2.5. but with my old cpu my ram was running at ddr450. do you think my ram is bottlenecking my system? it is just value ram form 3 years ago. i want to do as much as i can with out spending much more money on this computer. next week i am getting this vid card http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814150233 so that will take care of the vid card bottleneck. but as far as over all system performance what would you suggest?

i just like C&Q because of the lower idle temps. i had it running on my last cpu and it would go from 1.4 to 2.4 and idle temps were like 80F or 22C which was nice

i just like it for the decreased idle temps. why is it gay?

When overclocked, it can quickly and easily cause the following:

1.) Increased false sense of stability.- CPU is running at a slower clock speed when idle. Stability! Until you do something, and it clocks back up and crashes your system.

2.) Instability from rapid adjustments out of spec- while it works very well, suddenly adjusting from 1ghz to 3.2ghz will not be perfect every time. :p

I don't like anything that changes clock speeds like that...my old ASUS N.O.S. didn't work very well

thanks hat, although i am not sure what one i want to do next. vid card or ram. my current ram is prety good for being value ram. with my old cpu i had it at ddr450 for months (not stable with this cpu :( ) so i am thinking about the vid card first. the xfx 7600GT with GDDR3 for 139 @ newegg.i found iit 30 bucks cheaper on another site but it was in AU so shipping was 30 bucks and it would take a few weeks so i will go with the EGG!! :D then i think i will get the DDR although almost every review for that ddr500 said it will fail after 6 months or so :(

I disagree. Please explain why you alleged the quoted portion above.
Here ya go:

When overclocked, it can quickly and easily cause the following:

1.) Increased false sense of stability.- CPU is running at a slower clock speed when idle. Stability! Until you do something, and it clocks back up and crashes your system.

2.) Instability from rapid adjustments out of spec- while it works very well, suddenly adjusting from 1ghz to 3.2ghz will not be perfect every time. :p
I agree with Dippy, based on personal experience.

cool & quiet driver for X2's...is there a winxp ver?
No.

There is other drivers available for Windows XP that should yeild similar result when compareed to Cool n' Qiet drivers for other operating systems (see Namslas90's post above).
