CoD4 looks like a pretty good game, but it's not Call of Duty anymore...the whole CoD series was set in WW2!!! It may still do well, but it definitely won't have the same feeling as the other CoD games.

call of duty 4!!

Boy that bites as for this game being for the xbox360 only.Surely the pc outranks that console all over the place.I wonder if xbox went to the makers of that game this time around and paid them some major bucks as long as they were the only ones reaping the rewards.Go figure ha?Oh well will find a better title somewhere else. I hate modern combat games, over complicated, to much technology, and not much improvement from ww2 guns. i like the good old ww2 weapons...simple, not fancy, and brutal.

I perfer BF1942 over BF2, and DODS over CSS... (but i like ETQW for they made simple yet very effective guns).

From what I can tell from reading the link, the beta is the only thing that's gonna be exclusive to the 360.

My feelings EXACTLY.

Why call it COD4 anyway? Nothing in common with the others in the series... But wait, if they named it something else, it probably wouldn't sell as much. The Call of Duty name will probably help the sales... seriously.. Just what I think.

I agree, I think they should just drop the 4, and start a new series called CoD:Modern Warfare. That way they can keep doing WWII shooters, yet still do modern shooters, if they wanted.

Yea but dont you think that the WWII scenario might be a little..overused? Imo they just made the right decision to move on to the next chapter..different scenario, different enviroment, etc...and believe me they will make sure that the "CoD"-feeling will be still there.

Well, you'll still have a lot of WWII die hards out there. I think if they if they separated the series into CoD and CoD:Modern Warfare, they could appeal to a broader audience.

Side Note: CoD2 remains my favorite.

If they could make a COD in which the outcome of the war could be changed then id love it but in every COD the outcome is the same as history says in both mission and total outcome. The allies win...Perhaps thats why they moved to the next step so we wont know what to expect...
