Then don't go above either a 2600xt, 8600gts or 7600gt

And you probably wont want to try to overclock.

That 250w psu can handle a x1900pro

My own x1900xtx was in a shuttle psu for testing and it done allright. With 250w Shuttle psu.

I mean with the 300... I wouldn't put much at all on a 250 personally...

Don't try this one... Dang lucky you didn't fry anything... Must have been really low power consuming processor, ram, hard drive etc.... Considering the 1900Gt and 1900xtx both draw around 130 watts.

It was a socket 939 Board one 160gb s-ata drive, a 4000+ (non ee or something so 95 watt rated)

And everything worked very well while playing games and stuff.

I mean u didnt reach high peak in games. Beacuse either the cpu isnt stressed 100% or gpu istn stressed.
So for me it worked perfectly.

Although go get the numbers.

What cpu is ind your shuttle atm?

And what other components?

And honestly the 300w psu will get all the stuff easy.

I have a Shuttle SN95G5v3 which uses a 240W PSU - everything in my is being powered by it and I can't say I've had any issues. Only issues I have got have been from my own fault and a bent pin on my 160GB HDD. Shuttle's PSUs are fantastic and I've been able to run mine fine for years without any over-heating issues or the alike.

Johnny5 - what model XPC d'you have?

Smooth - I made a thread over 'ere about fitting a X1950 into any of the G series chassis without having to mod anything. I hope you find it of some interest.
