btw i moded mine i added extra 120x120 fan on it and its now 31c idle on overclocked 2ghz to 2,7ghz intel p4 3,440 volts

My god your motheboard would have to be renforced. It has to cost like 150.00. For that I would move to water cooling

hey! thermaltake is good lol, i have a thermaltake blue orb and it does a very decent job at cooling my cpu, it idles around ambient with no mods and as5.

Thermltake makes fantasic cooling products and is in the same league or better than Arctic cooler, Zalman, and Thermalright. I for one think Thermaltake makes great cooling products like the big typhoone.

no company can beat thermalright lol, they're the best air cooling company out there, however thermaltake is extremely competetive with things such as zalman, artic cooling, etc.

i don't have a tt product in quite some time, but the last i had (thermaltake sonic tower) had the worst lapping job i ever saw :|, i never lapped it, but i could have got about 10ºc lower temps prob just by lapping it

its designed to cool without a fan, but comes with the duct to hook to a 120mm fan at the back of the case.

i have mine setup that way, with a fan in the back pulling the air out, it keeps the cpu very cool, 29-33c idle even with a very low cfm fan, and never seen more than 50c load, again with very low cfm fan. i've got an x2 4200+ and even when overclocked to 2.6GHz it stays at these same temps.

if you mean the ifx-14, then no... the ultra extreme is better, the ifx trials it though. save your bucks and go for the ultraex, believe me.. i almost wanted the ifx-14 until i read reviews.

The Scythe Mine Rev B that comes as standard with the fan in the middle modded with 2 extra fans (one each end) one blowing to centre fan that sucks from the one and blows it into the last that sucks it into the case extractor fan if that makes sense.......this setup apparently will beat almost anything out there although I appreciate it's the 3 fans as much as anything......but it's cheap! I am at work at the moment but when I am home tonight I will dig out a reveiw from pro modders, it beat the standard Thermaltake 120 by 6C at idle and 9C at full load.

does more heatpipes=better performance then? i have seen coolers with 3 4 or even 6 heatpipes.is there some scale as to more pipes and better cooling?

just wondering.
