Im looking to get a server up in my house or co-locate it somewhere, but I want you'll to give your opinions and suggestions.

!Requirements!​

Must be Intel!
Must Have at least 2 GB Memory (Preferably fast than DDR2 667)
Must have above 120 GB Hard Drive ( Try to make it above 7.2k RPM )
Asus P5K Models will not be accepted
Price Range can go up to $1500​


Please help me choose!

do you have a server case? I guess the Silverstone tj09 case I just ordered fits a server mobo inside, has amazing cooling and it looks real nice... about the other server hardware.. I dont know anything about that lol.

Web server?

Home means using an ol' case. Co-loc would most likely require a rackmount (1U, as you usually pay by the U at a host).

What are you going to use this server for, and how much traffic is it going to get. If you're just making a home file server, or want to piddle around with a low traffic site you don't need anything powerful at all. I use a PIII for an FTP server on occasion, its transfer rates are more limited by the internet connection than the components it contains.

Unless you're dealing in high volume traffic, with lots of people accessing large amounts of data, a sever doesn't need to be anything powerful at all.
