Hi.
A friend is selling his 6800GT, It has a 350MHZ core and 1000MHZ (effective) for the mems, also it has 16 pipelines an 16 ROPs and a 256 bit bandwidth. As far as I know more pipelines is more important than MHZ in the clocks.
So, I wanna took that 6800GT to replace my onboard 6100........but the million-dollar question is if the card IT'S TOO OLD to make an upgrade, I don't want the card to play the latest games, just to make the SO smooth, play FEAR in mid/low-settings, play emulators and keep the smoothness when I jump into Vista.
What do you think????.........OH, and I also consider a 8500GT but the DX10 support doesn't appear to help 'cause the overall performance It's kinda poor. Of course the 8500GT It's better 'cause It's newer, but I think the 6800GT outperforms it...or not???
WHAT DO YA THINK????
regards
