yeah, and like i've said i dont care, im find with my own friends, if i get elected a mod miraculously, i know i'd have to enforce rules the way they are meant to be enforced, whether on enemy or friend.

lol, while being a mod would be great, its not like im going to go after people and ask em to vote for me or anything lol, if the mods/people pick/nominate me, well thats great, but other then that, im here to help people that need it, thats about it.

well yeah, something like the project log mod thing is exactly what i'm talking about when i say that we need to reform the mod system. i haven't seen a post from DOS since i became a member here, well might've come across an old one, but didn't post when i was a member here, so just goes to show, hes one of the people that should become a retired mod, and so that way other mods can fill his spot and mod the project log forum.

Were acting like the forum is all chaotic or something, Im not sure how many mods we have now, but they are doing a dame good job at keeping this place in order. The truth is we are all mods in someway or another, we help each other out when we can, tell someone if they should have posted in the Hardware section instead of the Software section, let them know if they should lower the price or put up pictures. The only major benefit I see from having more mods or making them more active is that hopefully more news would be posted in the news section due to "mods" deticating time searching the web for interesting news. With all that said I am simply stating my opnion.

Mods don't typically post news. We have a news staff. So that's a whole seperate issue.

I agree with you, it doesn't seem like the forums are out of order or anything. I don't even think news needs more mods....sometimes I find the news flooded with articles....other times not but if it became like how it was when Hellas was a news poster...that's too much news.

Well I mean what kind of helping the forums do you speak of? I mean there's probably stuff in the 8 pages of posts in this thread, but I don't like reading that much . I could see if we were having spammers sign up than start spamming all the time or if we got into huge arguments over nothing etc etc. But the thing is this forum doesn't, which is why I'm part of it.

I agree to the petition statement to an extent, I like the feeling of not always "being watched". I think the few active mods here are doing a great job, they interact socially in a positive way with the users of the forums, and apply their given and expected power over the forums in a proper manner (in damn near most situations from my views and experiences).

I don't think it would hurt to add a couple, but anything beyond that would be overkill. If they could find staff to make sure there's one-two on during off-peak hours and 2-3 on during peak hours of average visitations/posting by active users, they would be okay. But you start adding more mods, it will feel like a digital prison in a sense, where the rules are alwayse enforced, and the feeling of Big Brother comes into play. That has been my feeling with other forums where there are many more mods active. I like it here because of how it is, so if this petition changes things for the fact of having more mods, or more of us getting a chance to be one, then I would have to argue it.

I agree for the second reason depending on when GPU is created and the forum structure it will contain, whether be an extention/topic in this forum or a complete and unique entity. Either situation would require more mod staff.

But keep in mind this is my opinions and how I feel about the topic. Who do I think would be a good mod? Really I dunno, I don't think the most straight-laced, by-the-book person is a good idea, that creates a less personable staff that could be impacted greatly by just one person, even if it was short lived.

Someone who's personable, honest in posts, and able to get along with the majority of the user-base/staff along with being on during the needed hours that TPU would need covered. I do not know or pay attention to that strategy, but I'm sure there is a version of it used here.

i agree, im not saying like a billion more mods, just a few would be good. and yes about the time periods. i've seen this forum with no mods or admins around quite a lot recently and so yeah you know. as for the mod picking, no idea how that'd work, its up to w1zz.
