Sitek is readying a SideWinder design competitor mouse, the Cyborg Mouse. This is fully-featured, adjustable, laser gaming mouse with 3200dpi. By adjustable, I mean you can extend or contract the top of the mouse to suit any size of hand or remove weights from the base for quicker movement. The 4-way scroll wheel is also adjustable - you can change the speed and the click strength of the wheel. According to Amazon.com the Saitek Cyborg mouse will be available on January 11th for £40/$83.

Very nice design, I love the personalization you can do. However, 83 dollars isnt gonna make me buy the thing. I cant see spending more than $55 at the most for a gaming grade mouse.

You're one sad mofo if you buy that.

I would but the mouse i already have is more expensive, it cost me £60

Logitech G7 - which I am led to believe has been discontinued due to the release of the G9 & also as I cant to find it listed on their website anymore. sure you can buy them but while stocks last i suppose

Personally if i got this mouse I would class it as a downgrade as it aint wireless. as for the DPi I only set mine up to 800-1700DPI max so having a stupid amount of DPi dont really bother me unless im playing an RTS of MMORPG so in a way this saitek mouse is useless to me

If that can take acceleration, then it might be worth the money, but 3200dbi is just silly. My microsoft 1000dpi laser mouse (6000) follows every movement I make, be it slow or fast (I've set my USB poll rate to 500hz). Great for gaming and no need for adjustment. Yes I could use another setting like 1600dpi, but for the price of under 30€ or 30$ (in newegg), can't go wrong.

# Adjustable mouse size extends or contracts to suit any size of hand or grip
# Adjustable Scroll Wheel – changes click strength of scroll wheel

Those seem like nice features, but still the price is way too high for a cheap brand like Saitek.

Haven't just found a good upgrade yet, all laser mouses seem to have gone for "who's got the highest dpi"-trend and what reviews I've read the cost of the high dpi in the sensor is less accurate control or even pointer getting stuck. Might go for Habu next, as current on is made of shiny plastic that is quite slippery in long gaming sessions. If this had a rubber grip I'd buy another one to have as backup if this breaks.

have you checked the price tag on the Logitech G9's? roughly the same as a G7's which more expensive then the saitek here. its just down to cosmetics i think. the G9 looks like it was spawned from Optimus Primes arm pit whereas saitek looks like something out of star trek.\

EDIT:

my bad I misread your msg & thought u said that you'd rather get a G-9.....my apologies......
