8800GTX/PSU question

Justa question about the 8800GTX.

Atm i currently have a an Antec Truepower 2.0 550w PSU .but im going to be getting a 8800GTX in the nxt 4 or 5 weeks and was wondering if the above PSU is good enuff for it?

Why 8800GTX?, theres no point to get it now, 8800GT is out,performance is really close to GTX, oc-ed may make it equal. more you have GTS, wait till january february for G8E or new revision of GTS with 128 stream processors based on G92 chip. (december 07)

hmmm it might be a little tight, how many amps do you have the 12v rail? and whats your 12v lead?

The reason im getting a GTX is because im getting it from work on a staff scheme near Xmas,i know the GT is faster than wat i have but imo its not enough of a performance increase to justify upgrading.plus the fact they are not exactly easy to get hold of atm.

also i can get the GTX at cost price from work so it will be cheaper than anywhere online.

I have to get it near xmas as the scheme doesnt last past December,so that rules out waiting until nxt year.

anyway can any1 tell me if my PSU is good enough for a GTX or will i need to upgrade that as well?

I read one guy had an antec true blue 480 that was running one so far without any problems, so personally I think anything 500 or above should be fine.

the 8800GTX has a TDP of around 145 watts. Someone over at SilentPcReview is running a 6600 with 2 8800GTX on a 400 watter

8800 GTX recommends 30A on 12 volt rail for your entire system. Systems vary , but that's the general guideline to follow for one (1) 8800 GTX.

Look up the reviews of high end cards on this site. Look at power consumption of the systems. 550W easily feeds it.
