Phanteks has some good people in my experience. A guy once spent like 30 minutes on the phone with me (or at least that's what it felt like) figuring out which of their heat sinks I had from my very awkward and probably not at all accurate description to send me replacement mounting hardware for like 10 bucks. They seem willing to stand behind their stuff.

I broke a couple clips on my Phanteks evolv X they sent me new ones no questions asked. For me they've always been A++.

Too late. All your data is belong to us now.

Seriously looks like a nice monitor though... I'm not much of a curve guy but a mild curve like that I could get used to for certain games.
Well, I was already used with the curve of my Aorus CV27Q. If anything, the curve is lesser now.

It's a preference thing, the curve part. If it isn't a bother to you, then enjoy it and the excellent display!

First: it's one pack of AA and the other of AAA.
Second: the objective of the AA's would be the X360 controller I had, but that was replaced by the 8BitDo in the photo.

type c wired earbuds for my phone, steam Deck (verified with a buddy who said they do work on Steam Deck and they carry over their sound profile to any device, so once I get the app downloaded and tuned for my sound preference I can uninstall app and it will stick across all devices still)

my buddy was saying they sound incredible for the price, so I thought I'd treat myself as a reward for doing well at work lately. they haven't arrived yet, but I am looking forward to it. @VSG :)

a cute 11k rpm itty bitty fan? not noisy at all (and stop when the SSD is not in heavy use), carry case and cable (that serve as a lanyard) alluminium case with a write protect switch and the window is magnetically held, yeah i like it ... now i just need a second 2tb SN770M and i have my ultra portable nomade drive :D

the build quality is quite surprising for something i paid 8chf
20240307_144154.jpg20240307_144157.jpg20240307_144200.jpg20240307_144217.jpg
minor grip: the aRGB connector is not in an ideal place, but it should work nonetheless, eh ... well now the Herculx is not the only ROG themed thing in a not at all ROG themed build (when i will take the time to install them ... ofc )

over-engineered GPU holder in an over-engineered packaging? well ... the unboxing was satisfying ...
20240307_211433.jpg20240307_211459.jpg
turn out it was a BNIB sealed, the bubble level is removable but they put the pin on the holder , NOOOOOOOOOO!!! ah whatever ... it will stay in place

and the 7.03chf compulsive buy turned out nicer than expected ... the screen is kinda sh!t for anything else than displaying music info, but the build is surprisingly sturdy, it has a mic and integrated speaker for dictaphone function (can work also with music but well ... tiny tiny speaker :D ) no touchscreen but the buttons are nice and easy to use, to my surprise, it can read 1tb uSD cards (what the heck, my Fiio X5 III could only host 2x400gb max, tho the M6 i had could handle 2tb card as max theoretical ) no ESS/TI-BB/AKM DAC nor known SOC but sound over BT, with the AZ09+PR2 and PR2 wired is more than adequate for casual listening ... it can handle high bitrate FLAC just fine o_O
20240307_143545.jpg20240307_143550.jpg

about what i expected: a plastic built MP3/FLAC player you'd find in a gacha machine, and about what i did not expect: for it to be good enough

Got myself a simple soldering station and a decibel meter (the latter just to prove to my wife she makes too much noise when I'm spending on my PC again  ).

I definitely need one too.. and perhaps one of those infrared Thermometer IR laser guns too. Might as well check her temps alongside the noise level readouts. If that works... a BP machine too hehe

they arrived, without any tuning from the app they sound decent 7.5 out of 10, surprisingly airy in the vocals for only costing 23 bucks, good bass and soundstage too for being budget IEM, loses 1 point for making my ears hot... which is strange because IEM's usually never make my inner ears feel hot, this may be the first time I experienced that, loses another 1.5 points because sometimes it is not forgiving to bad recordings. my buddy that recommended them said they get even better when you tune with the app so we will see. but as of right now I can't find the app on the app store, so going to have to wait until I can talk to him again.

ten minutes watching Total Recall on Netflix: sound pretty amazing, but lacking some slam, but to be honest I doubt even 1 grand IEM's can give me the slam I desire during fight scenes, my 400w 2.1 speaker setup manages it, but nothing else has yet, so not a fair comparison. it is better than other IEM's I own and the difference is noticeable. DSP is a bit of a game changer me thinks.

Fit: 10/10 never had earbuds fit this well, ever. I am using my own tips, but even with these same tips my other IEM's don't fit as well, its strange, these are just really well designed. these block a lot of outside sound so I can't complain. just wish my ears didn't feel hot. might just be today, who knows

being type c based, they work instantly on my Chromebook, phone, and steam Deck. plug and play. no regrets on this purchase.

@VSG :rockout:

edit: I am kind of sad, cause Amazon shows it as coming in this box art with the panda, I'd rather have that box art. but I got the one above. oh well no big deal

Put the old HDD to the "new" PS2 and it works. The best freebie in years

I just wish I had my old tube TV still for the proper experience. LCD just ruins old console gaming imo. :(

My parents had the worlds largest tube ever made, 40" big it was, playing games on it was fucking amazing. they gave it away to a local shop cause they just wanted it out of the house. I think I cried that day. it was like several hundred pounds in weight is why they wanted it gone. but damn I wish I had my own place when they got rid of it, I would have kept it for my dedicated emulation station. but such is life
