going to order a maze5 block for my card. but i still need small sinks for the mem and vr's. my question is, are there enough sinks to cover everything that needs covered in these 2 kits?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835108071

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835108094

or do i need anything else?

also my radiator is a MCR220 dual 120mm fan. will that be overloading my rad with a q6600, my x38 nb, and the gpu running on the loop?

currently running a q6600@3.8 with 1.44 volts, idling at 27c load at 55c

Ok 2 things to tell you.

#1 did you get your maze 4 yet? if not I do have 2 im selling shortly as soon as I get them off my 7600GT's tonight.

#2 if you have a radioshack close to you I have found they sell a set of RAM sinks that are copper, and work well. I believe they are made by Thermaltake. (cant find pic online) IIRC they are like 7.99.

But I did run across a set of Zalman sinks for 9.99 as well...http://www.radioshack.com/product/i...Product+Type/Heatsink&fbc=1&parentPage=family

i mistyped its the maze5 that fits the 8800gt. i also found ramsinks much cheaper than neweggs price. i've used the zalman sinks before and the stick very well but they seem to only look pretty, not dissapate much heat.

the swiftech's are worth the few extra buxs as they have allowed more oc on the mem of my old x800 compared to the zalmans.

i'll look into the maze4 if it fits i'd be interested.

the 8800 gt is much cooler running than the rest of the 8800 series card because the die is shrunk and it uses less power. The only reason it runs hot on air is the crappy cooler on it. It won't take much to cool it. With an accelero s1 mine never went over 40c and idled at 32c

well have to have a bech competion lol I just got the 8800gts 112sp :p more ram for my higher res :p and I'm testing my q6600 on air atm :p.. 2 more days and my new gts should arrive :D got it over the 8800gt because I play @ 1680x1050.

Also trt and Rangerone.. can you tell how good yoru quads going to overclock by its VID in core temp? thought I heard that b4? my VID is 1.1625v.. In my asus p5k bios it says my cpu volt is 1.201v... I havent bother trying to overclock just testing the rig on air/stock to make sure everything works.

^^ thanks. I normally get unlucky, hopfully this time I got real Lucky :p upgraded to a quad for free shipping on an order.. I wonder how the gts will do clock for clock against the gt..? both having 112sp's.. been looking arond it seems the gt can easily hit 700mhz whick the gts prob cant.. I never overclocked my old 8800gts.. didnt see a need to till Crysis.. I will be overclocking this one LOL. Maybe this weekend my new build will be finished.

Edit: umm well ready for loop testing LOL, hopfully its done by the end of the weekend :p.

why don't you ask him . I don't think the point of benching is stability it is to see how high you can run the program, you bring this up every time someone post a bench it's getting old. The world record benches are not stable but i don't believe thats the point.

^^ true true. Im not much of a bencher as you can tell, as long as I can set the game setting up very high with decent frames thats all that matters.

A max bench can give you an idea as to what your max stable clocks would be.. stable clocks are where its at for everyday app use. :p LOL

I am useing, soon at least, the maze 5, and was going to forgoe the heatsinks in favor of directed air... I find passive no substitute for forced air blown direcly on teh area to be cooled, am I off?
