can't uninstall oblivion

I am trying to uninstall oblivion, however, i keep a message telling me I can't. I don't know how to do the snapshot thing, so I will just type it out.

That's what the first window says. I click ok and it tells me to empty temp folder, close running programs, and check internet connection. All of that stuff checks out. I have no idea what to make of this. Does anybody else?

Try this. put in the in the CD, browse, run the setup.exe, then cancel it. Try uninstalling again and it should work just fine.

This solves most uninstall issues with oblivion according to ES site. :toast:

Hmm. That did something but didn't quite solve the problem. Now the setup wizard starts, and goes to about one green bar and says it has uninstalled the game. However, it has not. Thanks for the tip though, perhaps that is in the right direction. Where did u see this on the site? I can't find anything on it.

Wait did you just try this?

-Installation Issue
If you repeatedly uninstall and re-install Oblivion, certain systems will display an error message if you try to uninstall Oblivion again. To fix this, put your Oblivion disk in and run setup.exe. This will clear up the error and you can uninstall and reinstall the game.

I would just delete the folder in program files, then run ccleaner to take the crap out of the registry, and to take out the uninstaller link.

agree, manually delete the folder, clean the register and delete from Add/remove list

EDIT: or even better, just delete the folder, if don't want to waist your time...

I second this.
I couldn't unistall NFSC until I ran setup.exe.
