I'm not sure why these review sites say it's no good it's great on my 8800 gt almost matches my Accelero s1 , is smaller plus has 2 leds and it very quiet. It appears it was designed with the 8800 gt in mind because it has two types of heasinks, one type for the ram and smaller ones for the voltage regulators, and all kinds of extra parts incase you break or lose something. So far at 725/1750/2000 it won't go over 45c. I want to say aswell it is a work of art on the card and reminds me of a Zalman product. I would recommend this to any 8800 gt owner.

25 bucks is a bargain man! thats one great cooler, probably the best non-thermalright alternative since it completely beats the zalman that was at the top

not sure didn't know that. It is a really nice device Thermaltakes has put out some crap devices and some very good one like the Typhoon cpu cooler was the best for a very long time (some would say revolutionary). In this case this is top shelf stuff. Oh almost forgot it is very light.

Picked up my duo orb today have not put it on yet I had gotten 2 for my gts's a few weeks ago
but the base of the orb was smaller than the old gpu I wonder if this is why it had bad reviews?
anyway thats why I returned them that time.

okay little update with my core max overclocked at 740 core shaders at 1750 and memory at 950 my temps will reach 49c after about 3 hours, still thats very good compared to the stock cooler which reaches 89c and sounds like a leaf blower not as good as the Accelero s1 but still very good.

Wow! that chart was crazy - I think the 8800gt would blow up if it ran @ 100C+ load temps. That alone should have told them that they had installed it incorrectly or something.

I think the DuOrb fits the hd3870 series as well.

I've got a zalman vf900 to try out, but right now my temps are ~47C idle / 68C load @720/2000 so I haven't yet swapped coolers.

Trt - give us some benches @ stock / OC

cards not a great overclocker it appears it needs more voltage and is factory undervolted compared to my old Evga card. It will do 740 core but then if you change the memory more than a little it errors . Say you set the shaders to 1800 and leave everything else at stock its fine but all together the best it will do is 721/1750/1030 my old card did 740/1806/1033 and its not from heat. If I had a floppy I could flash it but I don't, and I'm not savy enought to use the windows flashing tool yet. It is doing 15800 in 3dmark06 with my cpu at 3.6ghz. So if I set my cpu at 4.0ghz it should break 16000

I haven't got a floppy installed either - but I do have one in the basement I could slap in for some fun. I think the key is some minor voltage bumps, but I'm not capable of hex editing, hex reading, or hex comprehending if it come to actual bios modding.

tatty modded his and we have the same card I just have never flashed from windows and there is not a step by step guide to flash in windows from the command line. I have done it on a floppy about 2 years ago and with winflash but not from the command line. kinda chicken
