I've explained it billions of times (well ok not billions) but when ATi and AMD merged, they formed DAAMIT. Not DAMMIT. The avatar says DAMMIT because they are really being pwnt by Intel right now in the CPU market, which is really killing funds, etc, we all know AMD is in the red. That's why it says DAMMIT... AMD is failing right now. Maybe I should change it to something else so people don't get confused.

That has nothing to do with anything. If that were the case, the Phenom would be performing a lot better than it does. Ignore the whole native crap. That is just bullshit shoved down everyones throat.

I suggest wait until January when Penryn comes out. That is on a 45nm process, 12MB cache, 1333FSB, and can hit 4Ghz on air.

When February roles around, the GeForce 9 series cards will be released.

Here are my thoughts on the native quad-core issue: Intel has been running off of older FSB technologies where the memory controller resides on the motherboard. If AMD still used FSB technologies, I am sure that their first step would have been the exact same as Intel! However, I find it hard to believe that AMD's setup with on-die memory controllers would have so easily been glued together as Intel did. I believe that if this were the other way around, Intel would have built a native quad-core just the same as AMD. That's not where we're at though!

If you're still attached to AMD, then I suggest that you try to maintain hope that their experiences with native quad cores may give them an advantage when Intel switches to native, on-die memory, and quickpath much later then they!

As for me, I stayed with AMD from my first computer up to the current computer because they did have superior performance with gaming... now, I find myself straying away from gaming in lue of my brand new career in graphic design/photography. Intel has always led in multimedia, but I wasn't ready for them yet. Now, I am.

Im happy with my q6600 g0 I got for under $300 here in Canada, you can get a stable 3.6 on air and max about 3.8-4.2. Penryn got pushed back to Feb

, though that dont effect me since I just opt'd for a q6600 since it game me free shipping on a big order

I dont see a need for quad crossfire.. 2 big cards will do and offer you more memory resources.. when you add cards your memory does not go up for games.. 512mb cards = 512mb memory whether it be 2 or 4.

Im stuck with a B3 Q6600 so I was hoping to jump on the Yorkfield train and get one next month. But that will obviously have to wait now. Gives me more time to save up for a new board as 680i wont support it.

I dont have a need for either SLi or Crossfire. The whole two card or three or w/e is just to help boost FPS in games when playing on a really high res monitor and you want the best out of your gaming experience. Other than that, its useless.

I really want to get my hands on the DFI x38 board.

Does anyone here know what the bug was on the x38 chipset? Is the only difference between x38 and x48 is that x48 supports 1600 FSB? Will a BIOS update on x38 boards fix that?

Hey guys im back and I was just wondering what would be better 4x 1g or 2x 2g ram I want to get some kingston hyper x ram but its $200 should i get that or is that to much to spend on ram

In my humble opinion the 2 gb (matched) would be best, BUT, it depends on how much you're willing to pay for the difference in performance. Also on a side note, do you know if your board will recognize 4 gb of ram? Some boards only rec up to 3.1 and I'd hate for ya to part with the extra cash.

Just some food for thought....

That Hyper X is a waste of money. You can get the same performance for MUCH cheaper!
