Best Budget Card

a friend of mine at overclock.com is looking for a card for his PC and his name is Vegnagun666 and I need to know whats the best video card you can get for under 100 dollars, it would also help if someone was selling one. He is looking for a x1950pro or xt like card, if you have anything like that, could you please PM me or tell me where you can buy good cards for cheap.

The 8600gt is pretty nice, friend has it installed on her dell. You can get a cheaper version than the xfx muffin mann listed, but xfx has a double lifetime warranty, and they don't care if you fry it or not.

ok i lied this is the cheapest i found it but i personally would spend the extar money on a new one just because i have this thing about buy parts off of ebay, every one i did buy off of ebay worked well its just idk i just dont like buying parts off of ebay for some reason

best budget card atm (IMHO):

Mid-range: HD3850 (£100)

High-end: HD3870 (£150)

Best I could find in that price range for AGP was an X1650Pro and a 7600GS.

I have a pentium 4 2800 mhz, it has hyperthreading i think, ddr2 533mhz ram, a 450 watt power supply, a dvd r drive, and the motherboard i have is a mach speed p4m800 motherboard

the card i have now is a geforce fx 5700 256mb

Ok after looking, I found a Biostar P4M900 motherboard, instead of an AGP slot it has PCI-e x16 slot.

The only other thing worth while that will max out your budget along with that motherboard is an Open Box Asus 256MB 7300GT.

That's is the best I can think of at the moment.

Video card is a downer due to being Open Box though. I say best to save your money a little bit longer and do a full upgrade, cpu/mobo/ram/grfx.

Your board isn't going to get you much of anything. You should just save up for a better upgrade. If you get a better video card, your CPU will bottleneck. If you stick with what you got now, your GPU will bottleneck. Waiting for a more balanced system will be better for you.
