What PSU to get?

Well after doing some heavy Overclocking on my HD2900 Card, my PSU now turns offf after a few minutes or so while playing Graphic Intinsive Games.

So I need a new PSU and before I buy one I want to make sure yall agree with my purchase.

The PSU is going to be powering parts lisited in my System Specs and here goes a few PSU's that I am considering on purchasing.

Well 750Watts is kool but I don't need it right now plus I don't have the money for it lol.

And with the other lower watt one, does having one large single rail effect anything?

unless if you plan on running a compressor or tec, dont worry about the rails. also i'd go with the ocz out of the 4, refer to the psu guide for good brands. but i love ira's pp&c's the most

I would go with the OCZ GameXStream or StealthXStream, both are great PSUs.

Two for OCZ so far and I don't think I'll get the 610, I just don't like the way it looks sorry but thanks.

pc power and cooling. its a top notch psu brand, that is manufactured by seasonic. it comes with a 7 year warranty and it is one of the top psu brands out there.

610W at a 40C, thats really good, cause a lot of psu brands test their psu's wattage at very low temps such as 0C, and so you'll never get the wattage specified on the label running at a temp such as 40C, whereas pp&c's can do 610W at 40C and even more watts at a cooler temp.

the color coding and stuff is a little out of date, but i like the oems of ocz better. fsp and topower are some really good oems.

remember the extra wattage on the psu is just overhead and will keep your psu from working harder/closer to max.

610 is fine for your rig though since you avg useage durring gamming will prob be like 300-400?

Man I appreciate that comment, but sadly not even 500Watts is enough for my rig.

I have been doing some heavy overclocking and now whenever I go play Crysis my rig just turns off.Sucks ass man, anyways thats the main reason I am getting a new PSU so that whenever A Hudge explosion happens in crysis my computer doesn't just turn off plus the miniume requirement for my HD2900 Pro is 550 Watts and I don't even have that, do you see my situation now.

Ok, I guess I'll go with the OCZ, Im sorry man you have a good point for buying the PSU you mintioned before but I just really want the watts, and plus its not like I'm going to have my computer on for a month straight if that were the case then I would definitly go for an absolutly good quality PSU such as the one you spoke of.

my vote goes to the PC Power and Cooling unit (610 as you said 750 version was too expensive)

they are arguably THE best quality power supplies on the market, until just recently (after OCZ bought them) most of their business was done on reputation alone, they had very little advertising compared to other companies, they have a very good warranty plan, the single rail configuration is in many eyes a better implementation than current limited multi rails (why you think GPU's are pitching up with multi power sockets on them - because of the restricted current available when complying with the latest specs, something which PC P&C disagree with, as do many enthusiasts) they will even mod the cable lengths for you at the factory if you order direct from them.

i know, i know that sounds like an advert for them, and no i am not affiliated in any way, dont take my word for it, hit the review sites and go back a couple of releases, the results will speak for themselves.

Do NOT recommend your "guide" to anyone, and do NOT recommend any piece of hardware to anyone, please.
I would go with PCP&C Silencer 610w, but your system would be fine even with 470w Silencer.

He overclocks and durring heavy use it crashes, 2900xt's are fairly power hungry to put it blunt I wouldnt run one on my 500watt Seasonic m12 and have much chance of it handling any overclocking.

My last reply was a quick one, and it was because usually pc's use alot less power than you would think, they hardly ever max all the hardware at once. I wouldnt recomend anything under a 550 watt high quality psu for what your running, you'd just be asking for trouble down the road.
