I sold my old 8800GTS on ebay and got a new 512mb version. Why? Look on tomshardware.com for the review it got.

I will post my benchmarks/test/comments here...

My first impression with Crysis in SP Demo on XP DX9. Left settings the same as with old card.
1680x1050 All on High

30FPS Avg with new card.

Old card was hard to tell around 20fps avg normal and 25fps OCed.

I am running 3Dmark 06 now and I will post the results for a side by side comp.

nvidia's site and select 8 series, 8800GTS 512mb, XP, Search = Page not Found.:banghead:

Using the ones that came on the CD w/ the card . 169.1. I think.

Of course the Older card had a major advantage by being Overclocked.

Now lets see what some Overclocking can do.

Are theses dx9 results or dx10? Im surprised the old card faired so well in 3Dmark 06, I take it you ran the 06 test @ 1680x1050.

that extra memory really pays off in crysis though when going really high on detail @ 1680x1050.. thats why I got the card but it does not beat the 8800gt in most other games since thier not as graphic dependant, thats why Im suprised it did so well in 06 againt the 8800gts 512mb.. once/if a 1gb version of the new gts comes out it will seriously pwn.

You have the GT not the GTS. But that being said your score is great!

As I said before the GTS (G92) version still needs a real driver for XP 32bit. The one that it ships with is not that great.

Nvidia's web site is missing that driver and I don't have it.

My new card should be scoring much higher. Will keep ya'll posted.

1280x1024 the defaults. That's how everyone is suppose to do it so we can compare scores. But people don't.

^^ humm guess the overclocking really pays off than.. but both cards should practically be at the same mhz since the new gts is 650 core aint it? I think it should pumble the 640mb @ that res.. I thought 400 points is quite a bit in 3Dmark 06.

Brain hurts to much thinking/problem solving all day today! lol I might not be following theses scores right, was going to reply when you 1st posted but I didnt have time to look at the scores though Im very interested in the cards your comparing :p
