That Blood Iron will do 470+ fsb, so if you're limited, it will be the memory or cpu. I know, I've got a blood iron in my second rig. It WILL take some time to get used to the "Genie" bios. I'ts awesome, but more complicated than most bios. Good choice going with that Xeon, and nice setup. The only thing I'd change is the case...I don't care for NZXT. :D

Get a PCPower & Cooling 610 Silencer. I would try to get some 1066 ram as well. With that your system is going to scream!:rockout:

Well you have a great system there. You should be careful tho, that motherboard as far as I know has only 4 phase power so it could be a problem ocing a QuadXeon. If you get it up to 3.5 you should be happy, you will not need more computer power for now...

I heard that P35 chipsets are like the optimal ones for duall-cores and x38 chipsets best for quad-cores - so maybe your mobo will not perform as good as if you would have gotten a X38 based mobo

P35/X38 were built with Quads in mind. I think you mean the 680i for Duals :)

No I asked in TPU if i should get a p35 based board and got as anwer that on my Q6600 it is more advisable to use a x38 chipset based mobo instead if a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3P.

Thread "Should i buy GA-P35-DS3P?".

One TPU member told me the same in MSN.

I have a P35, and I will be going Quad, wouldn't have bought it if it couldn't handle Quads.

The 680i isn't the best for Quads, but the P35/X38 were built for Quads.

I am temped to buy a dfi blood iron P35 mobo for my quad but am unsure of getting it because i heard that stuff (see above) - i know it would work but what in specific is better in OCing a quad core with a X38 mobo i was not told.

Dude it's not that it won't work. It will work flawlessly, it's just that I don't know how far you can push a quad on a 4 phase board. x38 is actually weaker at ocing, you should only buy one if you're really keen to get PCIE 2.0.You could buy a DFI Lanparty P35 with 6 or 8 phase, that should do it...

I should of done more research cause the ram is promo's @#%&!!!The last ram i had g-skill was also promo's i think.. if they clock to 1000 like the g-skill i will be happy but not as happy as i would of been with d9's!!!If i had d9's with the last build i would of been able to push the e6300 further maybe ??Parts should be today but snow storm so maybe tomorrow ups calls snowing in vermont a catastrophic event.Hope this ram won't limit my overclock or ill be getting some crucial like i wanted to.
