i just got an email from them saying why they cancelled and that if i fill out a questionnaire i get 7.5% off my next order, which i guess is better than nothing. i also sent them a complaint saying they should have given me a choice and that they haven't given me back my money yet! i haven't heard back so far...

Why they cancelled your order without consulting with you, the customer first, they are required to inform you under DSR's if they intend not to sell you an item AFTER they have taken payment of it, otherwise their cancellation is considered "improper" and their right to cancel is void........in plain english, they should now let you have it at the advertised price

........but as I said in an earlier post, thats supposing nothing has changed since 2004 when I did my consumer law course.

Thanks for that, I'll give it a go on the forums tomorrow!

The only thing is I don't know what counts as actually taking the money, because when I checked on online banking after I bought it, my total cleared balance was obviously £450 lower, but the transaction didn't actually show up (it usually takes a few days). So maybe it doesn't count unless it shows up or something, i'm not sure...

Oh yeah I got a reply from the webnote from the 'Sales and Customer Services Team Leader' (sounds important!) saying:

'We have resolved this issue as soon as the error was notified and the item was removed from sale outside of business hours.

All orders have been cancelled and the customers notified of the error with a goodwill jesture included in the email.'

Go to the Citizens Advice Bureau, i am sure since they have taken the money they have to honour the order regardless of their T&C as consumer rights protection overrides it.
