What do you guys think of this psu for the $$$?

I was planning on waiting a bit to get a new psu but in the latest newsletter from newegg they have an 550watt Antec Tru Power Trio for $60 with free shipping with the code: EMCACAJAG http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371002

Is this a pretty good deal and would it be enough to run a 8800gt sli or 38XX crossfire setup? I plan on upgrading to an intel based system by the end of the year so I am going to need a new psu anyways.

On a psu? $50 lol. If I did go sli or crossfire I would probably buy just one gpu first and another a few months later. But now I just really need something that can run one 8800 because if I upgrade my cpu/mobo it wouldnt be until end of this year or start of next year. The psu I have right now is really weak, only 430 watt w/ 18 amps on single rail. I am pretty sure it is also holding my cpu from going any higher.

Hello, i think it is not much of an upgrade from 470 to a 550 with dual 18A 12V rails. but then again, Antec does not make bad power supplies.

The recommended is 475W for a single GTX (from BFG website). But then again i had a SLI of 7900GT on a Enermax 535W.

You might want to check these, even if not in your budget :

Well I would be going from an over rated 430 watt to a more honestly rated 550 watt psu. Also I would be going from 18 amps on the 12v rail to 42 amps on the 12v rails. I really just want to know if this psu is a good deal for the money. Im not really in the market for a new psu. I just can't pass this deal up if it would be good for a budget gamer. I wish I could afford a really nice psu but I just don't have that kind of money right now.

500-600 watts is ok for one card but for sli or crossfire setups you should run at least 700-750watts

idk ive managed to get crossfire running off of mein no problem, it really more or less depends of the psu, if you are going crossfire get a good psu, don't cheap out because you'll just pay for it later

okay sounds like ill just hold off for now then. I at least want to get an 8800 or 3850 by summer so I am going to have to get a new psu but their should be plenty of deals then too. My 8600gt should be fine for now though.
