new p35 mobo

im looking for a cheap-ish mobo, i don't quite have the money to do a full, bitchin upgrade until the summer, and i just got a good deal on a e6600 so...now i need a mobo this is the one i'm thinking of: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131180 i don't have the money to spend over $140, any input is greatly appreciated

thanks for the fast response---crossfire might be nice but in all honesty i doubt i would go for crossfire, cant afford it atm


edit: i just check the prices and cross fire seems more doable, maybe in a month im going to go crossfire

i was looking at that one, but there were quite a few problems with the board according to the review so i was kind of hesitant, but then again i have never had any problems with an asus product.

although that abit board is really cool, and seems like a great board for the price, the black and blue looks awesome

Northbridge gets terribly warm on that board. Trust me, I myself have contemplated that board before I purchased the AW9D-Max.

EDIT: In other words, be prepared to purchase a northbridge cooler for it.

From what I've found on this board, it's a good deal, BloodIron OC-ability, more cooling, larger layout, the few reviews of it there are yet have fared very well with 500+FSB easily possible. That or a DFI BI if you could find one for a decent price!

this is included free with it so im kinda debating with myself at this point i like the way the abit looks most of everything else in my case are blue or black, except my 2900, but at teh same time the dfi has 2 pci slots so if i wanted to i could go crossfire, but it doesn't look as cool, and the sata ports are arranged horribly well for of tehm anyway

If he does that though he may as well just get the IP35-e. Same price up front and $60 after MIR.

The foxconn is alright. Pretty much anything P35 or X38 you will be happy with.

i do plan on getting crossfire at some point, but idk if it will be with this rotation of upgrades, i plan on doing a major overhaul in the summer, which is why im hesitant. but atm im leaning towards the abit

there is this one to i have no idea what to go for, i know asus and msi make great boards, but i have no idea which one to go for, the asus supports ddr3 which is nice, but the msi is a bit cheaper

The Neo2-FR is great if you can get one that works. I'll be doing on my 3rd RMA this week. If you get the Neo2-FR and you update the BIOS don't use liveupdate it will brick it.

If you go with an Asus board like the last one you picked then your going to be able to flash that bios to work with ALL MOST anything that will be coming out in the future. My best friend has the P5W and he just flashed his to go with 45nm. So if you want a board thats going to last you, then go for it! I believe the Asus is goingo to be a good board for you.

Well if your into ocing then i would get the DFI Blood-Iron 775 p35....it's a very good board..you can't go sli or crossfire ....it was 107 on Newegg but like everything else on the egg if people want it then you pay more.....i think now it's 146...

If spending that much, might as well get a fuller sized MB with the same OC-ability and a little more on the features at the same price...the Lanparty Dark. I am in the middle of getting a P35..and the BI would've been a good option at $100...but at $150...too much for too little. Just looking at the two shows that. Very similar, the Lanparty has more cooling, better layout and looks imo (if looks matter). But everyone has their own wants and needs, there are many good boards to choose from out there which is really nice.

yeah I feel the same.. its better now to go with the DFI Dark if you are spending 150 dollars... Don't get me wrong, the Blood Iron is by far the best board I've gotten in the past 2 months, but it was 107 dollars then... But now its around the same price as the dark, so I wouldn't really tell a person to go there unless they only are going for ONE Pci-e port...
DFI Dark or Asus is what I would go with

the only problem that i have with the DFI Lanparty Dark is that it doesn't support crossfire, and that is going to be the next little upgrade ill be doing in the next few weeks

Then get X38...that's the way to go..XF on P35 is just like P965, one slot is X16, the other is X4...not worth it imo.
