Following the huge success of the EN8600GT OC GEAR, ASUS, producer of exceptional graphical solutions, has once again introduced the world's first hardware based real-time overclocking device for graphics cards - the OC GEAR, this time bundled with AMD graphics cards in the form of the ASUS EAH3850 OC GEAR/HTDI/512M. This new version of the OC Gear will allow users to overclock both the memory clock and GPU clock for greater graphical enhancements. Additionally, the ASUS EAH3850 OC GEAR incorporates the fastest DDR3 0.8ns memory modules, and as such, will provide users with over 12% enhanced overclocking performance and gaming experiences. This powerful graphics card also utilizes the latest thermal solution - the Glaciator Fansink; that utilizes a unique fansink design to keep GPU temperatures cool.

User-Friendly Interface and Easy Installation
With an easy-to-read mirror LED display, the OC GEAR displays real-time graphics card information that includes the GPU temperature and current FPS (Frames Per Second). In addition, the user-friendly knob allows timely adjustments for the user to switch menu options that include volume, GPU clock, memory clock, and fan speeds to suit different game requirements. The OC GEAR is the perfect tool to conveniently overclock, control system settings, and keep an eye on temperatures from the front of the chassis. Installing the OC GEAR is also hassle-free - even for first-time PC DIYers. Users simply need to install the OC GEAR into the chassis through an internal 4-pin USB connector to convey power and information to the motherboard, and that's all that's required - it's that simple!

12% Enhanced Overclocking Performance
Equipped with the fastest DDR3 0.8ns memory modules and the ability to overclock the memory clock, the EAH3850 OC GEAR edition provide gamers with the best overclocking experiences available. The high speed capabilities of the super fast memory modules allow the best overclocking capabilities for memory speeds - boosting 3DMark06 scores from 9883 to 11259 - an astonishing more than 12% improvement; while the GPU and memory clock are enhanced from 668MHz to 840MHz, and 1.65GHz to 2.1GHz, respectively.

Extreme Cooling with Exclusive Glaciator Fansink
The ASUS EAH3850 OC GEAR/HTDI/512M utilizes the uniquely designed Glaciator Fansink that effectively transfers heat away from the GPU for cooler operations - much like real-life glacial storms. It is also half quieter than generic designed fansinks - catering to users who require maximum cooling without excessive fan rotation noise. Additionally, the ASUS EAH3850 OC GEAR/HTDI/512M also comes equipped with the specially designed Cross heatsink that can lower Power IC temperatures by 11°C on average to provide more stable overall performance.

Unprecedented Rock Solid Quality from ASUS
In keeping in line with ASUS' Rock Solid promise for quality, the EAH3850 OC GEAR/HTDI/512M provides several solutions for top quality graphic performance. Temperatures of the newly adopted DIP Spring Chokes are 5~10°C lower in comparison to traditional Toroidal Coil Chokes; while Japan-made polymer capacitors lower power loss to provide more stable quality. Users will now be able to enjoy extreme performance and put their minds at ease at the same time only with ASUS EAH3850 OC GEAR/HTDI/512M.

Exclusive ASUS GamerOSD for Versatile Graphics Usage
The ASUS EAH3850 OC GEAR/HTDI/512M also comes with the exclusive ASUS GamerOSD that unleashes the true power of ASUS' VGA cards. This feature is able to deliver GPU overclocking from onscreen displays during gameplay - allowing users real-time performance upgrades when they require it. Additionally, it also provides users with the option to record live gaming action or live broadcasting over the Internet with ease.

Asus tried this before with the 8600, it lacked drivers for Linux and didn't provide a leg up over any other OC Model but they did end up selling the card separately. Thanks Jimmy.

I think that was an interesting thing Asus did, and now for the ATI version as well. However, Id be hardpressed to think it works as well as say, bios or software tweaking.

All Quake titles, Doom III, plus anything else you can emulate under Wine. No, it's not for those that want the utmost performance -- just those that don't want to pirate a copy of Windows.
