According to a graph compiled by Next Generation, Sony Computer Entertainment America managed to achieve the highest average game rating for titles released during 2007, edging out Nintendo and Capcom. SCEA attained an average score of 77.9%, with Nintendo close behind on 75.1% and Capcom in third place on 74.2%. EA and Microsoft didn't do too badly, managing 71.3% and 69.2% respectively, with two of the biggest disappointments being Ubisoft and Activision, which came in with average scores of 63.1% and 61.9%. I've attached the graph of results below, along with graphs from 2005 and 2006. The graphs are based on data from Game Rankings, which collects average review scores from a number of online gaming sites.

Lol at Atari, Activison, Midway and Ubisoft. Those companies put out so much publicity for their titles, and then release utter crap. They used to be awesome companies, but gone down hill for quite a while.

Ubi Soft mostly in my opinion, but I think Atari is making a come back.

yea, ubisoft is putting too much time and money in PR, rather than development.

Atari is been horrible ever since Infogrames bought the atari name.

Did you see where Phil Harrison took over Atari / Infogrames?

Alone in the Dark looks like a good title from them. What do you think?

I'm confused what did Codemasters make that was any good?
And in 05 who got Credit for WoW? Blizzard or Vivendi? Cause I don't see Blizzard and Vivendi sucked in the ratings.

Blizzard/Vivendi is Activison, haven't you heard? :p

Codemasters made some racing games I think. I can't wait for the next Operation Flashpoint though.

LoL, WoW came out in 2005, so I was talking about that years listing. Vivendi was low and Blizzard wasn't on the board.

TY for the info on Codemasters. All I've seen from them were cheap MMOs that I've beta'd.

Huh? Wonder who I was thinking of? Could have sworn it was Codemasters that was making the crappy MMO knockoffs. The company I'm thinking of was Korean.

Thought so, I looked up one of them: RF Online and it was made by Codemasters. I could have sworn they were a Korean company.

Yeah I beta'd it and at that point they were planing on charging. Looks like they got around that by charging for points or whatever.

They did charge for sometime until their user base fell off the charts.

How can this be true? How did they beat out Halo3 (MSFT and Bungee)? there is no way.

ahh the ratings come from Game Rankings...I didn't even know there was such a site. I wonder how big their sample size is.

edit* Found this in their footer
Titles: 24,345 P/Reviews: 449,023 Screenshots: 346,319 Votes: 1,064,826 User Reviews: 42,703 Active Users: 106,041

So 1,064,826 votes from 106,041 users. What percentage of gamers would you say that is? I think the title of this thread needs to be redone.

Only thing I can think of that makes EA "crap" is their crappy ports to different consoles, but over all they are ok....much better than Atari and Ubisoft which has been nothing but disappointments for that last 3-4 years.
