Click off to install important updates????

1st of all you have to realize I keep this computer in great running order,keep it clean dont go to stupid sights but yet the above TITLE keeps coming up everynight or everyday I wanna turn this thing off.I have a genuine XP windows so I know it cant be that.Starting to really piss me off,excuse my french.I know it's set to install impotatnt updates from time to time but everyday??Something fishy going on here.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thanks all. WASP

Seems like it's stuck in that mode and not installing then...maybe run IE WIndows Update and see if you can get the updates to install that way.

I usually set mine to just notify me of important updates, then I download and install them and restart if it requires such.

curious - do you ever turn your rig off?

Some updates for both XP and Vista can only be done after the OS has closed down, during the shut down process.
