X850 v 7300le

Ok my friend argued that his rig pentium D @ 2.66ghz with 3gb of ram and a 7300LE could perform better than my other rig which has a 2.43ghz athlon x2 with 1gb of ram and an x850 pro. He said he couldn't run bf2 on full specs with his so how could mine with only 1gb of ram resolution 1024 x 768. What is everyone's opinions ?

It doesn't matter how much RAM he sticks in that machine, his Pentium D 805 and 7300LE will drag it down below yours.

I was confident my 850 would perform better. The arguement started because my 8800 started getting low fps on battlefield 2 and I said my old 850 could do this better with higher settings (8800 is on low to ease the lag :eek:

I have an X850XT PE in a back up machine - it totally pwns. it might not be as fast & have as much power as more upto day cards but it still performs fairly well.

My friend can play crysis on low so I would say its not all that bad ... in sli he could get maybe 1 medium setting and the rest low

i would say its a waste of money to go SLi with a 3700LE might aswell sell it or trade it in for something with a little more Grrr under the bonnet like.........an 8600GTS or an 8800GT

Ummm ... I am not sure what your friend is smoking but comparing an X850 and 7300LE is like trying to compare a chevette(7300LE) to a lamborghini diablo(X850).

sure if it were a regular 7300, but were talking a LE it's more like a geo metro(7300LE) vs an old corvette(x850) the vette may not be the fastest performer anymore, but it's still a force to be reconed with.
