Now, I know, who in their right mind would want to try Crysis with an 8500gt? Well, to answer your question, I have never been in my right mind. LOL. Well, here is what I have so far. I will get some more done tonight or tomorrow.

Alright, I was doing some benchmarks on Crysis x64 using the Crysis Benchmarking Tool.So far, I have only ran the "benchmark_GPU" at 1280x720 no-AA.

System Specs.

Now, a wierd trend I was noticing. Look at the mem usage for DX9 and DX10. DX9 used WAY more memory than DX10. I couldn't figure it out. I even did each run through a few times to check if something was out of whack. Nope.

I will post later using my monitor's native resolution of 1680x1050.

I lol'd very hard. But that is strange that the DX10 ran better... I guess cause the 8xxx is optimized for that vs DX9.

I think because DX9 uses more memory usage to puposely increase frams per second as you can see the FPS in DX9 is higher then DX10? <-- Thats IMO nice benchies.

Not bad. Do you have a SLI board?

I wish. I have crossfire. x16 + x4. I am getting an EVGA 8800gt Superclocked in the next few days, so I decided I would do some comparison runs.

I hate to say it. The 8500 is not as bad as people put it off to be. Yeah, it won't play with all the eye candy, but it can play Crysis with fairly reasonable gameplay, when using low or custom settings, and a lower resolution.

But, it doesn't mean I can wait for my 8800:D. Gotta find something to pass the time though,. I will get the rest of my benchmarks done here soon, and then, I will update them again with the 8800gt. Until then....

I know it is an older game, but I could play both GRAW 1 and 2 on max settings and avg 30 to 40 FPS. Which 8500 did you have?
