That is the video card I have, I have it at Core bus : 628 Mhz Memory bus: 774 Mhz. I have overclocked it using the Ntune testing, to test it if it works and thats the best I get it at.

Now on this guide http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=2017&page=3 , they state they got the memory speed at 1612 Mhz, is there an equation that I am missing like w/e the memory bus is you times it by two?

At these settings these are my following temps :

CPU: 26 C , System 30 C, GPU1: 47 C , pretty much doing nothing.

Is this ok?

1612 is effective memory speed so, basically they are running it at 806mhz. Are you using a fan to cool the card? 47c is just a little bit warm for my tastes. I wouldn't run at 628mhz though, it's probablly too high for everyday use with your card. You may want to look into a good aftermarket cooler for it.:)

overclocking cards with only passive cooling is not a good idea. follows erockers advice and getting an aftermarket cooler would be the best idea but if you don't wanna spend extra money you could just get a 60mm fan or the biggest you could fit and zip tie it to the heatsink. not the best solution but it does work lol
edit
looking at that card you wouldnt really be able to strap a fan to that heatsink so aftermarket cooling is really your best option if your wanting better cooling

He may be able to strap a 80mm to the backside where the heatpipe leads to.

Yeah, in my other thread, if i can overclock my cpu, (main reason im doing all of this is to play age of conan) I can just upgrade my video card, and not worry about the cpu.

+1, That's a silent card (no fan), an 80 mm fan would do wonders. Also, while impressive, don't know I'd run it that high constantly........

a new graphics card might be your best bet, I know you can get a big OC out of your Opty 165, what were you looking to spend on a new card?

Wait one month, and new cards from both ATi and Nvidia will be released. Unless you want to go for a more budget minded card such as the 9600GT or HD3870 of course. The 7600GT is still a fairly capable card, that's why I recommend the wait.;)

what are your load temps? download ATiTool and let the Scan for Artifacts test run for 2 minutes and tell us what it shows you. (this is for GPU temp)

I wouldnt worry too much about 60*c load temps on a 76GT....mine ran over 75*C OC'd on the stock cooler. Thermal shutdown of the GPU is just over 100*C. Keep it in the mid 70's and you should be fine.

You really won't have to worry with temps rising when overclcoking it unless you're doing volt mods. Volt mods are the only thing that really generates heat.
