gtx280 release date

i have had a quick look and cant see another thread with this but am i correct in thinking the release date of the gtx280 is the june the 16th (today in australia) ?

i am only asking because my 8800gtx died last night R.I.P.

what a pity about ur 8800GTX! those cards proved to be an awesome investment. one of the only cards for a long time to last 21 months!

personally i wouldnt go a GTX 280....id nab a cheap 9800GTX (can be had at $349 AUD in perth mate) and wait for the GT200b (55nm)

and i know i keep mentioning it, but a 9800GTX with the 177.26 drivers will not dissapoint!

my other thougth was a 9800 scc 770mhz core and 2300mhz ram $418 ausie, but i was told to wait for the new gen,, is there any reliable news on how much these cards might cost?

There was a 280GTX on eBay for like almost 700USD, so I don't know what prices you pay int AUS for stuff, but probably going to be ridiculously expensive anywhere when they officially hit the market.
