Alright here are some numbers, I have not run anything on stock but I might later on tommorrow.

here are my system specs, everything is air cooled so It is achievalbe by an average overclocker. I wan to point out a few things about lost planet, I don't know why the review sites show such low numbers for lost planet, but in game at the highest resolution of my monitor of 1920x1200 and with 4xaa everything high other than hdr, which is at medium. I get 50+ in snow and 65+ fps in indoor areas. and yea those are in game numbers as well as the performance test.

this is my 24/7 setup
Motherboard: Asus P5Q-E
CPU: E8400 running at 4.2ghz with 1.38v loaded
GPU: HD 4870 at 790/1100x4 with fan at 40%

3dmark06 default

3dmark06 1920x1200 4XAA

First of Crysis, with dx9

Crysis 4x AA

devil may cry 4, dx 9, 1920x1200 4xaa everything super high

Lost Planet 1920x1200 4xAA, everything high, HDR medium

Call of Duty 4 I don't have a benchmark, but I benched the first level form beginning to end, and here are the number from fraps, 1920x1200 4XAA, EVERYTHING MAX

2008-06-30 18:51:25 - iw3sp
Frames: 37639 - Time: 423357ms - Avg: 88.906 - Min: 40 - Max: 169

NOW ON TO DX10

CRYSIS TESTED AT HIGH AND VERY HIGH AND AT DIFFERENT RESOLUTION, PLEASE LOOK AT THE BENCHMARK FOR DETAILS

NOW TO HIGH AND DX10, SORRY I DID NOT BENCH HIGHER RESOLUTION AT VERY HIGH BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT EVEN BE PLAYABLE AT 1680X1050 SO THERE WAS NO POINT, I AM SURE IT WOULD BE 20 OR SO AT 1920X1200.

HIGH DX10

DEVIL MAY CRY DX10 4XAA EVERYTHING VERY HIGH AND LOST PLANET DX10 WILL BE UPDATED IN A LITTLE BIT.

LOST PLANET 1920X1200 EVERYSETTING SAME AS DX 9 TEST IT SCORED

SNOW 46.6 FPS
CAVE 65.6 FPS

SORRY EVERYTIME I HIT PRINT SCREEN AND GO TO PAINT AND TRY TO PASTE IT I GET A BLACK SCREEN, TRIED IT A FEW TIMES AND DID THE SAME.

NOW DO DEVIL MAY CRY 4 AT 1920X1200 4XAA EVERYTHING VERY HIGH. PRINT SCREEN FUNCTION DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK UNDER DX 10, MAY BE I WILL CAPTURE IT WITH FRAPS TOMMORROW.

SCENE 1 95FPS

SCENE 2 68 FPS

SCENE 3 118 FPS

SCENE 4 88 FPS

Awesome stuff Nkd, how are you finding the image quality compared to your last GPU ?

With regards to this, as you say, using something like Fraps, can allow you to take screenshots of games that would otherwise produce a black screen. :D

thanks, yea lost planet kicks ass with this card, don't read them reviews, I don't know what they are smoking, lol. just try it for yourself if you play that game. In-game performance is greatly equivalent to benchmark and only better.

Hey guys I get virtually the same score 9154 at 1920 by 1200

But my score only 10684 standard res which is down to my cpu

Will I NOTICE this much in games? as doesnt seem be much diff in 1920 benchmark

Cheers paul

Hey NKD
i have the same setup as you , (P5Q-E E8400 and HD4870) and i get 46FPS on the crysis benchmark with everything high,DX10, NoAA, at 1650x1080. I can see from your results that you only get 40FPS.
My 4870 is overclocked to 780/1090 and my E8400 is at stock speeds (2x3.00ghz).
Just wondering why you get 6 less FPS than me, when uve overclocked alot more than me.
