I'll say three things here.

#1 yes it can be done.

#2 be prepared and maybe get some pushpins ordered in case you deform or break the stock ones.

#3 dont expect as dramatic of a drop in temps as that user in the link you provided, but it will lower temps if done correctly!

Thanks Peet, from changing the tim on my R600 temps did not drop by all that much so did not expect all that much on the mobo either. just good to know that it does not void the warranty.

My max temp is 51c on either SB or NB in a room temp of 30c. And as i can tell there good upto about 80c-90c.

I did try it on my ABit mobo to and not much improvement there either. Maybe if it was a lot hotter i would.

Yes indeed it does void your warranty, but most ppl who OC the beans out of a motherboard or CPU arent really in it for the warranty!

I guess ASUS do not monitor those forums all that mush if at all. so much for the mods there if they let people say you can.

Just as a for instance DFI has optional coolers that fit the Blood Iron too. but the sticker on the stock NB says warranty void if broken. So its ok to recommend them, but I agree a disclaimer is in order!

Well if you break it yeah it's 100% your fault. Wish more company's would do that..
