I'm a HUGE fan of the Fallout series. After seeing the quirky controls, the terrible character animation, the ice-skating instead of walking, from oblivion, I really don't have high hopes for this game. I honestly think that they are ruining this game by making it a first person. The graphics of Fallout 3 don't really look all that great, and the death animations just suck (judging from the E3 video). I'm probably going to rent this one before I actually buy it, and if I do buy it, it'll be for the PC.... the oblivion controls just SUCKED!!!

I think it looks amazing. I was just gonna shrug it off because I haven't seen anything on it before the E3 demo, but now its one of the games I want to buy. I admit, the animations looks kinda "meh" but ill be in first person the whole time :) And who cant turn down a nuclear warhead launcher slingshot thing

looked gash

Not sure what that means, but I will be playing it for the content and storyline more so than for the animations and the "look and feel".

Oblivion was okay when it came to fighting, but that was not what made it a excellent game. It was its open-ended, do whatever you want gameplay.

I have faith in Bethesda's ability to make quality games.

I think pretty much the same. I just hope some(and by that I mean 24x) anisotropic filtering helps the textures cause they looked kinda low res(but it was a 360 demo, probably looks alot better on PC).

It's kind of funny. People will say they are not happy with a game like Fallout3 because the graphics are not "Crysis-like" and then complain because Diablo3 doesn't look like Diablo 1 & 2 (dated graphics). Cake + have != cake + eat.

Just a casual observation, not refering to your post PsychoTronn.
I really can't judge a game's graphics on a 4 minute video from a presentation.

I am not much of a fallout guy, but the game looks like oblivion mixed with bioshock mixed with resident evil mixed with mass effect. But the game looks damn interesting though. I doubt it will come fall this year, most likely spring of next year.

There is still a lot of work to be done in the game...it's nice to see some footage, but I could really care less until the official release is out and reviewed. Things have been known to change from their E3 counter-parts, and even as-is right now I think Fallout3 looks promising. They can't make everyone happy with their efforts, but I for one definately look forward to this release!

Bethesda is in a good financial position. Their track record for good selling games in not in question. For this reason, I think that they will hold off on the release until they are happy with the results.

That is good for us :)
I will happily wait for a finished product as opposed to some crap shoved out the door.

Definitely, I think the game will be wonderful, and much of my confidence in this comes from the fact that Bethesda is at the helm. I would much rather wait for an excellent game that will last me years (or at least months) than play a rushed game that isn't what it could've been.

yeah you're right about that. just from what i've seen....it looks unfinished or something? or maybe that is the console version? i don't know if their is always a difference, but maybe so

i also realize the video isn't the best place to experience them

i really dom't care about the "eye candy" part of today's graphics. they don't have to be pretty or look like Crysis. i like Stalker's a lot. so many put it down. but for me its how well they are executed and how well they are integrated into the overall feel of the game. video games are good as "simulations" sure...but just as much other world like escapism. so something cartoon like such a BioShock fits what it does and the rough graphics of Stalker does the same. its all about atmosphere....not how perfect or not a car looks or how accurate a shadow of a palm tree is on the ground

although that is nice :p

but yeah...if this game looks the same throughout and it all makes sense those graphics are fine, i suppose. i'll take another look. but the first thing i thought of was a console game called timeshift. that is not good, necessarily. those are bad graphics imo

EDIT: oh wait this is a role playing game? is this a role playing game or a FPS? if its a role playing game that changes the graphics rule for me

I don't like the way things go with the game. It may be a good game and it may be not. I don't like the changes in the conception of the game. It is not a real RPG anymore, it is a FPS with many RPG elements in it. It may be a good fallout univers game, but for me this is not Fallout3 as it should be.
