What ram should i get?

or any other ideas in the 100-120 price range. I only have 32-bit os so 3gb of higher end ram would work as well, i dunno if that would be more efficient tho. Any help is appreciated

I have a set of OCZ Platinum 1066's 4GB (2x2GB) that are a week old. They clock over 1100 on 2.2v. If you're interested, I'd let them go for $90 shipped.

Crucial Reds if you want performance. OCZ just aren't as good as Crucial. 1100 on 2.2v is piss with Crucial memory. And assuming you get a double-sided set 1200+ is acheivable.

I can run my Lanfest (they are only 1Gb sticks, not 2 like the Reds) at 1200Mhz with 2.3v

I would say that you could reach the same with more volts. Just shoot fitseries3 a PM, he has/had the Reds. He can tell you what kind of overclock he got.

Id go with nfleshers advice here, he did do the review for TPU on those reds. So if he says OCZ, thats the route Id take, plus it looks as if the reds are no longer an option!

careful what advice you give bro, you're talking 1GB modules...100% different ballfield from 2GB modules, you're just confusing everything

2GB modules overclock much differently from 1GB...as well as only come in double sided modules

STAY AWAY FROM THE CRUCIAL!!!!

I'm not sure yet if they have switched manufacturing process yet, but the newer single sided sticks are absolute crap.

My roomie got some, and fell for the trap. In a month, he got 7k errors in 3 seconds on his mem test. This manufacturing process is across the board. I don't know why Crucial will admit their fault, but this better be fixed and soon. Looking at the NewEgg review, it acually looks like the Ballistixs got their product trophy taken away from it. Reviews went down the tube latley.

I don't know why anyone said anything yet.

Those GSkills look nice. I'm about to get those myself. Right now I have 2x1GB Older Ballistix, non glowing if you are interested. But for new, go with the GSkill, I can't express that enough.
